Green and earthy aquatic freshie
Oro Verde immediately gave me an old-school throwback vibe when spraying it. Definitely reminds me of the Acqua di Giò pour Homme Eau de Toilette DNA, aquatic and fresh, with a light fruity component. The watermelon is only apparent in the opening, so a bit strange that it's listed as a heart note. Of course, everyone has to mention the cannabis accord when it's present in the note listing, with folks on Fragrantica even going so far as to compare this to Hindu Kush which it smells NOTHING like. I don't get a straight up hemp note, more like the combination of the cannabis, mate, basil, vetiver, palo santo, and moss giving a kind of rough green/smoky/earthy edge to the aquatic/fruity nature of the rest of the composition. A really nice way to do a throwback scent: start with the same base/DNA, but add interesting components to update/modernize it. Though the performance ratings are quite low, this lasted forever on my skin (12 hours), and projected well for the first 3 or 4 hours.
