Black Casati

Summer isn't the best season to try this perfume, but I fell in love with it nonetheless.
It's first and foremost a smoke bomb. And I love smoky fragrances. But it doesn't end with a blast of smoke. If given the time, it evokes a vivid painting of a forest fire: but the flames are long gone and all that remain are smoldering wood trunks and ashes. You can feel the warmth, but everything that was once green is gone.
In a desolate landscape, you stand in front of a bonfire and are asked: will you rekindle the flame?

Casati Black è uno di quei profumi che mi ricordano perché amo la profumeria artistica. Ha qualcosa di incredibilmente realistico: sembra quasi di trovarsi davanti a un fuoco acceso, con le sue fiamme, il calore e il fumo che si alza nell’aria. È una creazione che riesce a trasformare un’immagine in una sensazione concreta. Amo particolarmente quando questo tipo di arte nasce in Italia, perché sento che valorizza una tradizione creativa che merita di essere apprezzata.

Sono così felice che la profumeria viri verso l’arte e cogliere un odore non significa voler piacere ma semplicemente dare la possibilità di scelta e differenziare l idea di profumo.

Upon applying this creation, one gets a deeply smoky, bacon-like accord that immediately draws the wearer into a dark scenario!
You find yourself standing amid charred birch trees, surrounded by coal-black wood, knee-deep in black topsoil.
In the drydown, the fragrance sheds its initial smoky sharpness and develops a fascinatingly ethereal, earthy note, carried in places by a patchouli that is bitter to my nose. This cool, almost resinous bitterness blends perfectly with the burnt birch bark and gives the darkness an immensely profound texture.

My express thanks go to sebdrejcha, who kindly left me a sample. As can be read from his review, he could not do anything with the fragrance at all and was not impressed in the slightest.
I, however, feel as though I have waited centuries for precisely this composition.

Burning wood, smoke, glowing and burnt trees, a hint of Black Forest ham.
I really can't smell anything else here and I don't want to either.
Absolutely terrible scent that I washed off after 5 minutes, or at least tried to.
It is persistent, long-lasting, and absolutely room-filling.
Maybe I'm not man enough to wear it. Perhaps you need to be 1.90 meters tall, wear a flannel shirt and a man bun, as well as a Viking beard.
If you want to smell like a forest fire, you are in the right place, because you won't get any other note than the burnt birch bark indicated throughout the entire pyramid. Obtrusive, penetrating, simply unbearable and absolutely incomprehensible why someone would bring something like this to market as a perfume.
I think it's great when people try out new unusual compositions and don't just recycle known DNAs, but this seems to me like an experiment or a honeypot to make fun of "trained" noses.
Just state a huge pyramid and see if anyone thinks they can detect individual nuances, even though only this burnt bark is contained.
So far, the worst thing I have ever smelled. The other scents from Casati are good, which is why I was genuinely astonished here!
