In the Mood for a Nice Story?

You will see, I can also be different and not just go after innocent stinkers and their creators with venomous fangs. So take a look at my picture, how the snakes flutter their eyelashes and their lips are poised for a kiss. With pink lipstick, yes indeed. Soap bubbles sparkle. Next door, someone is playing the harp. The cat is stretching out in front of the fireplace. A couple is cuddling on the grass. Birds are chirping, the sun is setting in golden hues. You count sheep..........

BANG! Wake up! It’s January! What do you think is going on out there? Couples on the grass? They can only wallow in the mud at best. Chirping birds in the branches? Most songbirds are still in the south, and those that are still here have no desire to freeze their beaks off. Harp sounds? Of course! It’s the wind whistling through bare trees and dark alleys. Lamb nappa sheep brushed with vanilla? Keep dreaming....

But I don’t want to take away all your hopes, because there is still beauty in the world of fragrance. Yes, d'Orsay is reliable! Really! There’s nothing to complain about. A finely spiced opening, far from all gourmand and fruity clichés.
A floral powder note settles on the skin (iris?) without being loud or attention-seeking. D'Orsay doesn’t need niche screamers.
But L’Intrigante isn’t entirely delicate or tender either. Woodiness, musk powder, and the subtle leather note give it character and backbone. Elegant and not obsequious or even cute. Nope!

What I appreciate about d'Orsay is that they don’t launch a new fragrance every few weeks, except perhaps for the 2020 series.
At least they aren’t riding the current gourmand wave.

And the cat? It’s still snoring in front of the fireplace, dreaming of the neighbor’s canary......

D'Orsay, what intrigue have you spun!
I have always found it exciting to test and use women's fragrances. In my youth, I was much bolder and more open when it came to perfumes than I am today. But I have retained certain preferences. I like perfumes with character and quirks! Of course, I also have calmer representatives in my collection; otherwise, it would become too exhausting for me over time.

From the traditional brand D'Orsay, I only knew Le Dandy until now. When I received this sample, I was curious to see how the intriguer would unfold on my skin.

But what should I write? The scent develops blandly on my skin. A nice subtle powdery scent with a medium sweetness stands unmotivated on my wrist. I can't report anything about a scent progression, and it's not particularly intense either. Skinny, as they call it these days.

It probably needs a feminine skin for the scent to shine. Did D'Orsay ultimately spin an intrigue against me, and does the fragrance smell great on everyone else, just not on me? But I don't want to take myself too seriously!

Where D`Orsay is written, D`Orsay is inside.
After my favorite brands Guerlain, Hermés, and Chanel, there are several companies that I also greatly appreciate. These include Caron, P. Nicolai, Lubin, and of course D`Orsay. Etiquette bleue was my first D`Orsay fragrance, although I'm not so sure about the year of release, as I believe I wore it before 1993.

Now I can also test L`Intrigante and I am impressed. The perfume was created in 2010, but D`Orsay has remained true to its style over many years and does not cater to the floral-fruity direction that is considered modern today. It also does not ride the Oud wave but instead created a beautifully elegant women's perfume that takes the sweetness away with soft, floral notes through a subtly spicy top note and makes the heart race for anyone who loves unsweet, understated elegance with an almost masculine base.

To my great pleasure, once again no fruity notes have been used, making L`Intrigante feel powdery, unsweet, subtle, and a worthy and coherent representative of the D`Orsay house. It is wonderful that fragrances are still being created today that do not succumb to the spirit of the times.

It smells like spicy floral soap and somewhere in the house, a fine scented candle is burning. The lady has left her leather gloves in the hallway.

Delicate floral wrap with spices, vanilla woods, and a hint of leather. Classic, airy, soapy, and softly powdery.

Whispers softly of fresh-spicy, delicate vanilla, caressed by subtle wood and musky creaminess.
Noble scent, moderate price.

I see a theater in front of me, 60 years old, dusty backdrop, powdered actress. Very nice, slightly soapy scent.

Strange scent. First vanilla - powder, then vanilla - herbal water with faux leather on the side. Not cohesive, not for me.
