Hell-Floral meets Oud | Beautiful composition, but unfortunately too feminine for me
The fragrance house Emirates Pride comes from the UAE and is inspired by oriental masterpieces. I received a sample of Jasmine Bel Musk and I must say that the scent really smells good, but for me, it leans more towards unisex-feminine. With jasmine as the main player, that is of course clear.
Now to the scent:
- The fragrance starts extremely floral with a slightly sweet, floral jasmine note. A light freshness can also be perceived alongside the floral main player. Quite nice, but very feminine; the opening is also the "most feminine part."
- After that, the scent becomes a bit smoother, softer, and fluffier. Musk comes into play, absolutely not animalistic, but rather soft and airy. The jasmine slowly recedes and still blends with the musk. The musk perfectly balances this floral aspect and truly gives the fragrance a beautiful, creamy-silky texture. In the drydown, oud joins in; but absolutely not animalistic or stinky. Thanks to the light, silky musk and jasmine, the oud gives the fragrance a slightly woody character and really boosts the performance. I didn't expect that, a clean, oud-like drydown.
- The performance is really top-notch for such a floral-soft, creamy fragrance. The sillage is also clearly noticeable, making it a good performer.
Well, for me, it’s not a fragrance simply because it doesn’t suit me; the scent is designed more for women and does what it’s supposed to do very well. Despite its simplicity, the oud gives the fragrance a slight depth. However, it is not very special.
Therefore, for people who enjoy soft, silky-floral scents and especially jasmine, the purchase may be worthwhile, but it is not a must-have. There are some cheaper fragrances that do at least as well.
