Mangos in Taha'a, the "Vanilla Island"

Wow!! I'm so impressed. What a wonderful smell. This reminds me of childhood but also makes me yearn for the near future, to make vacation plans.

Mangos are my brother's favorite fruit. For some reason, I hated them when I was a kid. I'm grateful that taste buds tend to mature, as I love them now. Every time I eat a delicious mango, I think the juxtaposition between my youthful hatred towards this beautiful fruit and my love for them today makes mangos taste that much better.

When I sprayed Pannaco Tahaa, I was met with a blast of tropical mango juice. How could one sniff immediately teleport me to an island so easily? This is the magic of Fomowa's Curd Mango, Pannaco Tahaa, which is joined by a teasing vanilla throughout.

Taha'a, the "vanilla island" next to Bora Bora, is definitely going on my travel list, and what better fragrance to use than this? I already feel as if I'm there.

The bottle itself is gorgeous. I'm a sucker for gradients. (I laugh about this now, but when I first grabbed the tester bottle, I had trouble figuring out what the name was from the label—is it Curd Mango? Mahachanok? Is Pannaco Tahaa the brand name?)

Longevity is not an issue at all here. On my skin, I can smell it just from moving all throughout my work day, and it's at least with me for 10 hours. The tester strip still reeked the next day.

I had a sample and loved it so much, I went and bought the full bottle.

Powdery Mango

I had Mango Kiss briefly, I loved it but I would go completely anosmic around 30 minutes in and eventually sold it. Pannaco IMO is a less complex fragrance but still delivers that powdery syrupy mango I loved in MS….and I can smell Pannaco for hours.

Realistic, juicy mango but just zhuzhed up enough that it still meets my old lady fragrance minimum requirements. Frankly I’m a little angry I got it as a free sample, the last thing I need is another perfume bottle.

Delicious mango

Pannaco Tahaa, well, a Mango fragrance, it's all it needs to make me curious, since I’m a big mango fan, being my favorite mango Cruz del Sur II, but few actually deliver a good mango note.

Being this one bombarded right and left with free bottles I had my doubts about it, regardless of this pratice, this is a stunning release, so much it only took me 2 days to buy it after testing it.

This mango is juicy, mouth watering blend of a very realistic mango with creamy undertones, here the pannacotta accord, slightly milky nuances and the backbone of tonka, vanilla and the most important strangely part, the musks and saffron, I don’t personally like big saffron since it often feels too metallic to my nose, now I’m talking about saffron and it does seem out of place here, right? It should, but it’s not the typical saffron, what I get is a very light “leathery” feel, which I suppose might be the saffron (I’m becoming a glorified piramide note reader like most reviewers aren’t I?) coming from behind alongside the musks, they play a big part making this fragrance balanced and airy, and a huge performance! I can already see Bro’s salivating after reading “huge performance”, kidding, they would never read this far.

It went straight to be one of my favorite mango fragrances.

Fruity, light cocktail with noticeable vanilla traces

Pannaco Tahaa is fruity, but still not a fruit bomb.
It is sweet, but not too sweet.
There is a nice vanilla, but not too much vanilla either.
You can hear it nicely, I like it.
I think the fragrance has a good balance to bring all the notes into harmony.

The fragrance starts with a nice mango and some orange.
However, the mango is at the forefront. It almost seems like a kind of mango cocktail. However, the cocktail is not oversweetened, but left natural by its own fruit sweetness. There is also a hint of vanilla, but it is still really subtle and perfectly balanced.

Over time, Pannaco Tahaa gains more depth. The fruity elements recede somewhat, the vanilla becomes more intense and it gains some "spicy" sweetness. What exactly do I mean by that? A little benzoin and saffron ensure that it becomes slightly spicy but still retains its sweetness. The tonka bean certainly also ensures that it retains a certain sweetness and probably also gains additional sweetness. The fragrance also becomes increasingly creamy.

Towards the end, everything becomes increasingly "dry". The fruity elements are now definitely gone and what remains is subtle saffron, some vanilla, tonka bean and benzoin.

Pannaco Tahaa is wonderfully unisex and the performance is completely satisfactory. The fragrance lasts on my skin for about 8 hours and the sillage is super pleasant.
