Why this fragrance is so torn apart here (at least in terms of ratings) is a mystery to me. There are hardly any alternatives to
Gentle Fluidity (Silver) - but here we have a valid option. If you don't want to spend huge sums on US import clones or questionable Instagram oil blenders, you're well served here, let me summarize briefly in advance:
No, the
Varakh Silver is not a 1:1 copy that could not be distinguished from the original in a blind test. Nevertheless, it gives off the "vibes" of the original at an unbeatable price. Not least because this DNA is ideally suited to a (currently even my) Daily, the price should not be ignored.
Let me go into detail:
The opening is probably the furthest away from the original. Of course, this fragrance does not dissolve as finely as the original. But none of the MFK dupes that I have tested so far have been able to hold a candle to the originals. You can sense the DNA, but the
Varakh Silver is still much greener. Here, I perceive a stronger juniper note in particular, but the familiar clean-green feeling (mainly due to the musky note) is still there when you spray it on. Just not as well balanced as the MFK fragrance.
In the drydown, however, we are closer. I'll throw 85-90% into the room. As clean and almost as elegant as the original, we have a nice variation of musk, woods and nutmeg. The juniper note (yes, what everyone calls gin) remains omnipresent throughout the entire fragrance
The persistence is okay. Not as brilliant as the original, but it lasts a good 5-6 hours on my skin and a moderate amount on my clothes the next day. Re-spraying is probably the least of the problems at this price:
The elephant in the room is, of course, the price. I'm not quite sure what some people expect here. That a €20 scent has such a good resolution and projects better than a model that costs more than ten times the price? That every clone has to be better than the original? Leave the church in the village.
Does the fragrance from FW make the original obsolete? No. I will certainly buy this one again at some point "for those special moments". With
Varakh Silver, however, I have the DNA of
Gentle Fluidity (Silver) at my fingertips every day without having to think about my daily driving me to ruin.
