Cognac Cafe
Oh my godddd this is so good!!!! This is so rich, dark, sexy, and decadent. Initial spray has a burst of roasted dark coffee beans & licorice, and it dries down to a super nutty boozy gourmand. I don’t know if I’d classify this as a “coffee” fragrance persay since the coffee (while detectable) only exists in the beginning. It’s extremely nutty and gourmand so if you like nutty gourmands, you’ll likely like this! I definitely get the Black Phantom reference — not identical by any means (def not a dupe) but some may say it belongs in the same kind of scent family. Really similar to Navitus Divine Aphrodisiac (dark nutty peanut butter gourmand fragrance.) Totally unisex — again, you’ll like this if you like dark nutty gourmands. Would be super sexy on any man and woman. If only I had a boyfriend !!! Ahem, anyway. Have a good day lol

Milky coffee scent with almond and spicy nuances
This is my sampling of the recently-released Galleria Parfums from Ashton / Gents Scents, Cognac Cafe, certainly my most anticipated try of the line of 7 new fragrances, as I tend to love both boozy and coffee-rich fragrances. Cognac Cafe consists of coffee, not of the dark/burnt variety but the steamed/milky variety, in concert with notes of cognac, almond, brown sugar, and licorice, the result being something nearly entirely gourmand, quite sweet and creamy with a slightly nutty/spicy/powdery side fostered by the almond, along with cedar, myrrh, and vanilla in the base.

It immediately reminds me of another nuanced milky scent, Xerjoff Italica, but with the notable addition of coffee. As it dries down, it settles into a very comfortable balance that’s sweet (but overly sweet) with nuances, particularly of the almond (with a sort of spicy nutmeg side), shining through with each subsequent smell. And it has vague resinous and woody qualities without being substantially resinous or woody.

The first impression is a good one—this is a very good fragrance that gourmand lovers will surely gravitate toward; it performs well; and unlike Italica, as with the rest of the line, it is priced at $205 for 100ml, which very reasonable for independent perfumery, in my opinion.

I’ll continue to wear it some more but this is certainly one I’d recommend that others try. I was fortunate to buy some decants of the collection, but an official discovery set is also available for $35. I look forward to sampling the rest of the line, as well.

A latte foam
I blind bought all 7 of Galleria fragrances and this will be my second review. This opens extremely foamy (milk froth) and keeps that note throughout. If you've ever had warm milk before bed, it smells like that milk as it's warming in the pot.
I also get a very anise like scent which really gives this depth. The mid is where the cafe part of the show is. It's not dark or heavy coffee, It's more of the bean itself. There's also a boozy hint. You will continue to get the anise and foam through the mid as well. The dry down gives just the slightest sweetness with foamed milk. Great job on this one! If your looking for a big coffee scent this isn't it but you won't find anything else that smells like it.

creamy-soft coffee scent
In the video about this fragrance, Ashton Kirkland from the YouTube channel "Gents Scents" describes his intention as Creative Director like this: He wanted a coffee scent that does not hit with a strong dark, black, roasted aroma and also does not have a sweet cappuccino scent. His goal, instead, was to create the impression of a creamy-soft coffee scent, which he has achieved excellently.
With Sidonie Lancesseur, he has a perfumer who is knowledgeable about coffee and spirits. However, her Black Phantom is indeed strong, dark, and black, and therefore hardly comparable.

The fragrance opens with a wonderfully creamy-soft coffee note. Licorice plays a supporting role here and actually emphasizes the aroma. The almond supports the creaminess, while the sugar adds a pleasant light sweetness.

Even as the fragrance develops, it remains primarily a soft, creamy coffee scent with only a subtle sweetness; however, the coffee loses some of its projection. The cognac joins in and accompanies the coffee as a lightly alcoholic note.
The creaminess is supported in the base by the vanilla. However, the vanilla remains unobtrusive as an independent note. The mentioned woods (papyrus and cedar) serve more to support and provide structure.

Throughout the entire fragrance journey, the coffee is neither strongly black nor sweet. It rather emphasizes the creamy, brown, only lightly sweetened coffee. Especially the opening is truly great and inviting, as if one had a fragrant cappuccino in front of them.

Edit on performance:
The fragrance has enormous longevity on my skin. Even the next day, it is still clearly perceptible from 10 cm away. Regarding the sillage, my impression is that it is only subtly perceived in close proximity to the body.

The cognac reduces the sweetness of the coffee, which exudes fine roasted aromas. Spicy licorice, vanilla + wood complete it. Well done.

More cognac than coffee. And sweet. Bright + soft. Strong alcohol note. Better not if you're driving. I don't like it.

A blend of Kilian's Black Phantom and Angel's Share with a splash of Follow by Kerosene. Dream scent. Will definitely repurchase.

A lighter, everyday wearable, smoother version of Black Phantom. You feel very comfortable and cozy with it. Very finely balanced.

Strong coffee, smooth cognac, brown sugar. You get what you expect. That's the quality. Well-balanced. Not too bitter.

for me, it's consistently irrelevant - starting sweet with a subtle alcohol note on an incredibly annoying 0815 vanilla deodorant base - in my opinion, unbearable.

As if Ferragamo Uomo had been taught manners and the bergamots were stolen. Nice coffee note, but unfortunately too sweet and too bright for me.

Café atmosphere. Delicious gourmand coffee with caramel syrup + a splash = boozy-cozy :) Mouth-watering. A bit too sweet for me, but the coffee note is top-notch.

Yes, it definitely has what it says: cognac and coffee.
It's quite boozy, so you should like that.
Sweet and slightly creamy - great combo.
