Leads you into a world of quiet contemplation of life!

A fragrance that sings, not shouts, that is more enveloping than dominant. Ceylongrau floats around like a gentle breeze. It is wonderfully harmonious and understated, fresh and light. More a symphony of tranquility. Elegant and discreet. Citrus fruits dominate the beginning, a slightly smoky tea note with a hint of spice joins in. Musk and a gentle, woody base allow the Extrait de Parfum to fade away. To label Ceylongrau as a tea fragrance does not do justice to the olfactory experience. It is the overall composition that is delightful. Pleasant for all occasions where soft tones are more fitting than a loud appearance. Like a warm cup of tea that envelops you and leaves you happy and content.

Summery Elegance

The opening of Armani Privé A Milano is, in my opinion, one of the most beautiful for a citrus-dominated fragrance. Therefore, it is not at all surprising to me that this type of scent, especially the top note, can gradually be found in other compositions. While Armani follows with a lavender-iris combination and Cedro di Diamante by Perris Monte Carlo unfortunately drifts a bit into the shower gel-like, inconsequential territory, Martin Fuhs from Grauton Parfums has done something different here.

The newcomer Ceylongrau also starts with this beautiful, very elegant citrus, known from Armani Privé A Milano. However, already in the floral, predominantly jasmine-infused heart, one can sense that we are dealing with a rather woody and later also subtly earthy fragrance, as these accords can already be perceived in the background after about 15 to 20 minutes. As it moves towards the base, the somewhat rugged woodiness expands further and, with a subtly mossy component and patchouli, reminds one a bit of classic colognes that were often found in men's fragrances in the past. Additionally, there is a subtle amber-balsamic note and a similarly beautiful, soft musk as in the Armani.

This is a slightly gnarlier version of the iris-fluffy Armani beauty. Those who find A Milano a bit too sweet but still appreciate this fine and noble citrus might have found their perfect summer fragrance here. The theme of tea is well chosen. Specifically, Ceylon tea with fresh lemon juice. A scent that fits wonderfully into the very hot and humid summer of 2022. Elegant, simple with a classic, in my opinion subtly masculine touch in the base.

Martin Fuhs remains true to himself once again. Ceylongrau is also a fragrance that lovers of classically elegant perfumes might enjoy, while not forgoing modern elements. This beautiful top note speaks for itself.

A clear recommendation for testing. Also for non-tea drinkers.
