Spring feelings in Lehmann style - and a sad addendum
First: The first part of this comment refers to the version before the 2020 reformulation. The addendum addresses the new version.
-
"Vamos" is once again one of those fragrances by Lehmann that captivates me with its subtle elegance, wearability, and a certain grandeur despite its modesty. Similar to "Springfield," "Vamos" is an exceedingly artistic little perfume that strikes a balance between a touch of eccentricity and great wearability with remarkable ease.

"Vamos" opens both citrusy and quite floral - I would therefore - even though it is not indicated in the pyramid - guess bergamot. A delicate green spiciness is present right from the start. This silky green spiciness gradually becomes more pronounced, but I still smell a gentle floral note. Cumin has an ethereal rosy quality in its scent - is that it? Vetiver for sure - is that it? Sandalwood as well - is that it? Over it all lies a fine hint of soft balsamic sweetness. And beneath it, fluffy moss, a bit overgrown with dew. A touch of damp earth, along with warm wood - when I close my eyes, I am in a spring forest, sun-drenched, the anemones nodding cheerfully.

Perhaps the scent becomes a bit woodier and possibly a bit smokier over the hours, but it remains true to itself the whole time: Silky green, gently floral, subtly sweet, and always transparent, soft and gently glowing. Not a loud fragrance - but always noticeable.

Old school? Maybe.
Outdated? NOT AT ALL.
Timeless? Absolutely!

"Vamos" is a dreamy everyday companion with typical Lehmann durability and balanced sillage, suitable for both women and men, and for us, it's a 100% repurchase candidate, as my husband loves it just as much as I do and uses it with enthusiasm.

Unfortunately, Vamos had to be revised in the autumn of 2020. I have both versions here (a big thank you to KarateArwen), the fragrance before and after the reformulation, and I am now finding it extremely difficult to say anything bad about the "after." In principle, it is a different scent that vaguely reminds me of the old Vamos. Not bad by the way. But what enchanted me so much, those delicate sweet resin notes, that silkiness, that transparency, that light, that green-golden vetiver float, and of course that deep, spicy oakmoss note: All gone. And therefore: Strike everything I wrote above, at least for the version from autumn 2020.

And the new Vamos? A solid scent, more masculine than the old V, starts with an unpleasant grapefruit freshness/bitter note that the old one never had. Unusual, unexpected, but not bad; I wait longer for the vetiver, which eventually comes, but unfortunately weaker than before. Overall, the scent is a bit duller, not quite as transparent, somewhat sluggish. And it lasts significantly less. I know, a problem from the oakmoss/fixative prohibition corner, probably hardly changeable. No blame to Mr. Lehmann, I think he has made the best of the idea "Vamos" under the given circumstances. But still, infinitely sad.

And I also find it difficult to assess; I certainly wouldn't rate the new one with a 9 anymore. I'm still thinking about it...

Forest!!...that was my last word......
.....then the little angels carried me away. This is how I could "misuse" an old carnival song in light of this fragrance.
That already says everything about this "Lehmann". "Actually", that word shouldn't exist.
And: "Unactually?" I always ask when someone uses it. Because "Actually" is half of everything or of nothing at all.
So, enough of the wordplay!!!
The scent is simply a brand of its own and truly top class.
And that has its reason in its composition. Hardly any spicy-woody perfume manages to be so multifaceted.
On one side, there is this intense earthiness, constantly interrupted by a soft moss note. Then the green accents of conifers, deciduous trees (especially birches), and grass.
And then, time and again, the soft "rustling of underbrush," which creates an exciting atmosphere.
I can imagine that this comes from "Juchten," which I have not yet smelled as such.
This slightly "tar-like-inky" deep base.
Moreover, a light smokiness comes into play, very subtle, as if from a distance, which you always want to sniff at again but can never fully catch.
Everything is then enveloped in a fine mist, and silvery dew drops glisten on mosses and grasses.
Then, from one moment to the next, it is dry and pleasantly warm again.
Until this "silver mist" appears once more.
This "Vamos" has virtually no competition in its category.
And when I spray it on, I exclaim with enthusiasm: "Let's go!!! Off to the forest!!!".
There I will then remain for an indefinite time....

Vamos - I feel so cozy
My package from Berlin has finally arrived. It took a good 2.5 weeks for my second Lehmann order. During this time, I realized that according to the statements and comments here, I should have ordered 3 or 4 more fragrances. Well, good things take time, and I will certainly be ordering more from Lehmann soon.

I have been wearing a blend of linden blossom and neroli for the second day now, and I feel quite comfortable with this floral and fresh "Linero" scent. At this point, another thank you to Yatagan and PrisAloha for this great layering tip.

"Let's go" now, on to Vamos. With the first spray, I am enveloped in a green and aromatic aura, not a cool green, but this warm and mossy green, underlaid with earth and a very slight smokiness. It's lovely, and I practically inhale Vamos. An old-school scent that reminds me of spicy men's fragrances like Juchten by Bernoth, Eau des Baux, or Old Spice. Not a twin, but of similar construction. And a little bit, Vamos reminds me of Russian Juchten; no wonder, they come from the same stable. Vamos is contemplative, subtly fresh, and doesn't change much over the hours; only the woody notes come through more, along with a hint of anise. Here it is listed as unisex, but 20 years ago, this fragrance would have clearly been classified as a men's scent. And I would have worn it back then, as I have always had a fondness for "men's fragrances."

Vamos is a solid, conventional scent with mediocre sillage and longevity. A fragrance for every day and every season. However, it will be moving in with Mr. Pluto; I like Vamos even better on men. This kind of scent invites me to cuddle, so only with the right man and such, not with everyone…

A hint of Mitsouko, a touch of Aramis, a splash of Femme. A skilled Lehmann-inspired nod to beautiful classics. Green, woody....

I also get Mitsoukovibe here. The cumin adds a pleasantly human vibe to it. Very vintage.

Spicy chypre with clear inspirations. A bit too much cumin, Azurée and Femme say hello. Definitely a good alternative.

Lauder's Azurée follows the dry, warm, mineral Chypre path, but continues on Spain's relaxed, rugged coast…Vamos, let’s go!

According to Mr. Lehmann, it will be replaced in August 2019 due to new legal requirements through a significantly altered reformulation.

Unfortunately, it's not a signature scent for me, due to the herbaceousness. There's plenty of that with a fresh undertone. Spicy, soapy.
