Great sweet amber scent that is easy to wear
Next up is the Spanish niche brand House of Fanatics. I previously reported extensively on "Billion Dollar Oud | House of Fanatics," and now we have Amber Ghost. These two fragrances seem to be the most popular from this brand, which currently has 5 in its range. I tested all of them through the sample set and found them all to be good. The Aquat, the clean scent, and the rose scent struggle a bit due to the large offering in this price range, while the two heavier scents work quite well. I find Billion Dollar Oud to be the best, but Amber Ghost doesn't need to hide and is also a bit more versatile, plus at €190 for 100ml, it's €30 cheaper. With the current autumn weather, Amber Ghost offers a wonderful sensual warmth that works very well in everyday life due to its not too heavy composition. Overall, it's a great mix of warm-spicy notes, a lot of sweetness, and of course amber as the main character. Qualitatively, the scent lives up to its price, and it has certainly earned its 8.0 here.
Like all bottles in this series, this one is somewhat of a fail. Many associate this bottle shape with something else. Visually, it is certainly eye-catching and quite unique. The packaging is also quite appealing.
With Amber Ghost, you get a great mix that starts with an amber warmth that runs throughout the entire development. In the opening, you also get Somali incense, which is known to be quite soft and less smoky, keeping this creation smooth. A slight saffron spice floats along, but not as dominant as in many bestsellers with this note. It's actually a great mix where the notes are well balanced. A lightly creamy fruity mandarin also blends into the top note without becoming too fruity. In the heart note, floral notes of orange blossom and lily of the valley follow, without becoming too floral and feminine. Orange blossom naturally brings some soft vibes. Sandalwood adds clean woody notes and ensures a practical heart and base note. In the base, the sweet and warm notes of amber, vanilla, and a creamy-sweet tonka-ylang mix mingle. A stylish base of sweet-warm notes and this slightly creamy note. Even though sweetness is very present, the scent is not gourmand but rather in this sensual-warm direction. The scent is naturally unisex and versatile, suitable for both everyday wear and evening occasions.
Performance is in the solid middle range and is somewhat modest for the notes. Nevertheless, it is a pleasant companion that radiates closely. It's quite nice, especially if you enjoy warmer scents in everyday life. Longevity? 8 hours, possibly a bit more.
Overall, it's a scent that I really like and provides a cozy vibe, especially during transitions. Those who enjoy these notes can test it well.
