Luxe pistachio vibes

This is powdery, creamy, nutty, musky, and delicious. It's not instant pistachio pudding box vibes - it's a luxe, grown up pistachio that's salty, nutty, green, and wealthy. It's like my rich auntie who wears a beautiful, feminine dress and a designer bag everywhere she goes. This smells exactly like her.

It actually projects well on my skin and longevity is going strong so far - I'm at 5 hours right now and it's only faded a little. Appropriate for all seasons and luxe enough for night time, but timeless enough for day time.

Nutty vanilla cream: a graceful and light gourmand

Le Monde Gourmand’s Pistachio Brûlée is a fun and unique gourmand. Sweet, nutty, and milky, it conveys an air of gentle elegance. A vanilla note adds to the softness of the fragrance. It is both airy and cozy such that the coziness doesn’t feel deep and intoxicating in the way some gourmands can be. It’s a lighter cream scent that doesn’t wear your nose out compared to some rich chocolates and sugary vanillas. In my opinion, Pistachio Brûlée is a daytime winter fragrance that could work for late fall or early spring as well. It has enough sophistication for use for the workplace and low-key nights out in addition to leisure. It’s not my favorite, but I quite like it.

Dreamy, creamy vanilla mousse followed by nutty and powdery pistachio

Day eight of reviewing my travel size Le Monde Gourmand fragrances I got from Winners/Homesense. I've been seeing bottles of this brand on the shelves since forever, but never wanted to blind-buy a full bottle. I stumbled upon two discovery sets in travel size format at a reasonable price and this is what made me get them. I've always been curious to compare their price with their overall performance, so here we go!

Dreamy, light and creamy vanilla mousse. It's soft and gourmand, a bit mouthwatering. Unfortunately there's the weird fresh and plasticky accord at the edge of the scent I've come to recognise as the brand's DNA, but it's one of the better ones I've smelled up until now. Lactonic accord mingles with the nutty, powdery pistachio that appears slowly after a few minutes. It's really delicious! It did remind me of Sol Cheirosa '62 without the floral and caramel accord. Vanilla at the base is a bit more scratchy, almost dry and synthetic when it appears, but it ends up mingling well with the pistachio and the evanescent note of lactonics from the top.

If you love nutty and lactonic perfumes, this one is a lovely choice. I don't really get the negative notes (6.7/10 at the time of this review). Can be worn for comfort during a day at home or out and about. I prefer Sol de Janeiro's version (and I have a full bottle) so this won't make it in my collection, but it's a nice and cheaper alternative.

Pistachio Brulee

We have to give credit where it's due. I'm impressed that Le Monde Gourmand hit the market with a pistachio-centered fragrance in 2014, a full EIGHT years before DS&Durga's Pistachio. I wonder what the impetus there was because it's comparatively an unusual note compared to the rest of LMG's offering.

With that said, the fragrance is really light on said pistachio. It's a suggestion of the green nut, and mostly a lightly sweet blend of vanilla whipped cream. I'm dousing myself in this and still, it's just a faint whisper. If only it were a more potent, I think it could've been a tentpole pistachio fragrance.

Light nuttiness

A very light, somewhat airy and fleeting pistachio and almondy aroma. It's very creamy, yes...but whispy and barely there.

I agree with others who are saying body sprays outdo this, because they truly do. This has the outline of a full fragrance, but it isn't filled in and it feels incomplete. It needs more nutty qualities, a richer base, and maybe some salt or something savory to round it off.
