Meditation in a Bottle
This is not my first fragrance from La Maison de la Vanille.
However, I must say that unfortunately none of them have appealed to me so far. They are all crafted with finesse, though. The performance for the price paid is always right.
Ambre Secret leads us to a place of absolute tranquility, deep within ourselves.
Here, nothing exists except for the deep primal source of our being, from which the essence of our existence rises in the form of a fragrant, warm vapor. No noise, only silence. No thoughts, only spiritual peace.
A place where one likes to settle down and linger. A place one must settle down in, as it immediately captivates you like a fragrant pull. You can't help it.
The gentle light of this place emanates from small orbs of light that can be visually sensed in the depths of the source. They give the scene a mystical touch.
The balsamic scent of amber and musk, rising gracefully from the brownish-hued vapors that slowly ascend from the source, draws you closer to this place. You kneel by the source and gaze entranced at the rising vapors, as a third gray vapor ascends and majestically circles the other two. The masses of vapor begin to swirl gradually as they embrace each other, only to then blend together. The gray patchouli vapor begins to dominate the amber and musk until it gradually completely engulfs them.
This process is so fascinating that you want to stand up and reach out to touch the swirling scent cloud.
But you linger.
When I try to imagine the scent in sound, "We Come 1" by Faithless immediately comes to mind!
The name of the fragrance in German, "Geheimer Amber," suggests to me that while amber is present, it is more perceptible in the background. Nevertheless, amber is supposed to be the main actor, making the scent an amber fragrance.
On my skin, the fragrance adheres to no rules that would be compatible with this name.
I initially perceive amber and musk distinctly, which then, in my opinion, are dominated far too quickly and too much by patchouli, and subsequently completely displaced by it.
In my view, it is more of a patchouli scent. Unfortunately, I am not a big fan of these. Nevertheless, I must admit that I had the scent for quite a long time. It lasted easily for 8 hours. Projection and sillage are rather mediocre. The sweet-earthy scent remained close to the skin after the other two aromas had evaporated.
