Review same for parfum & oil
Actually beautiful if you adore cherry-forward scents. Does it have the “cough medicine” cherry olfactory experience? Yes, indeed it does. Does the original (a $400! perfume) share that same cherry cough medicine olfactory experience? Yup, it sure does.

I have other dupes inspired by TF’s Lost Cherry, but, if I’m being entirely honest, the cherry fragrances I’ve tried from Bath & Body Works and from my own go-to dupe, this is the best.

I own Lovely Cherie by Maision Alahambra. I’m on my 3rd bottle, in fact. I’ve also given it as gifts to loved ones who adored it themselves. However, Oakcha’s Sinful has a very clear, unmuddled cherry note that is simply fantastic. I don’t think you can do better than that for $50. I also get that sometimes $50 can feel like a stretch when bills are due; in that case, opt for the $24 Lovely Cherie by Maision Alahambra.

Sweet Amber Cherry
A burst of ripe cherry w/ a top note of an almost citrus, ‘fresh breeze’, ozonic floral. The breeze evaporates before too long, and the cherry-rose/jasmine floral persists. There’s a dark balsam underneath that I perceive as Peru balsam paired with a delicious amber sweetness. Dry down is fruity almond-toffee amber.

This is similar enough, if not identical, to Tom Ford's Lost Cherry, such that you might as well save yourself some money. I think Lost Cherry is a tad more complex in its notes, and if you really enjoy its complexity despite its famously short persistence, you may want to choose it instead. Lost Cherry is not truly a boozy fragrance, despite what the notes say about it, and this is not either. (If you want a boozy cherry, choose Bodacious or Narcotic Delight).

This juice is much longer lasting than Lost Cherry with better sillage, and I liked it enough that I purchased a full bottle.

Adequate Lost Cherry alternative for a fraction of the price
Finally, piece by piece, the Maison Alhambra fragrances are coming to Parfumo. The sub-brand of Lattafa gained a lot of recognition with the dupes of Tom Ford's Private Blend line. This brand probably quickly found itself facing a lawsuit from TF, as they had bottles and names that were extremely reminiscent of the originals. By now, all the bottles have a new name and a new design. Not a big deal, as the scent is of course exactly the same. I have versions of this scent in my collection and there is really no noticeable difference. An absolute no-brainer for this price, and this fragrance even comes close to the original, which is extremely rare given the price difference. The TF dupes from this brand are all extremely good. Even though it’s not a scent I really wear outside, it is a great cherry fragrance that I can absolutely recommend. The reason for not wearing it: This scent DNA is massively overhyped and is often smelled on pubescent girls, which will probably be the "Madame Chérie | Câline." However, those who celebrate this cherry DNA can buy it without worry.

The bottle and packaging are quite well made for this price. The old version was certainly a bit cooler; the newer bottle is unique. Not as pretty, but everything works perfectly and the scent is of course top-notch, which is what matters with dupes. You can already get 80ml for around €15, which is fantastic for this quality.
You don’t need to say much about the scent, as almost everyone knows this scent DNA: You get an overdose of cherry in all forms. Black cherry, regular cherry, a bit of cherry liqueur, and also this wonderful gourmand bitter almond note that is also convincing in the original. The scent is very gourmand and delicious from the start, and this remains until the end. Even in the base, there are additional sweet notes like tonka, toffee, and also balsamic notes and amber. Like the original, this is a great cherry gourmand that is easy to wear if you like cherry notes. It is not only wearable in winter due to these fruity notes. An absolutely great gourmand that is officially unisex but is more often worn by girls and women. A fantastic DNA that rightly gained this hype.
The performance is at least on par with the original, which is astonishing given the price difference. This cherry scent lasts at least 6-7 hours, and the sillage is extremely good in the first hours. At this price, it’s a fragrance you can constantly reapply.

One of the many Lost Cherry dupes that many brands have in their assortment in the Arab world. This is one of the most well-known, even though brands like Afnan have comparable quality. No matter which brand you choose, the original falls short in terms of price-performance ratio. Even though the original is beautifully refined in detail, I would always opt for these alternatives, as at over €300, the performance is not that great.

Goodbye Tom Ford!
Maison Alhambra has launched a cherry scent here that is very intensely cherry-like, with a slight marzipan note. It is said to be inspired by Lost Cherry Eau de Parfum. In my opinion, Forbidden Love captures the fragrance impression quite well. However, the longevity here is really strong. As is often the case with scents from Maison Alhambra.

The cherry is synthetic, but in a good way. It has a pleasant spiciness/depth and never becomes squeaky or overwhelming. A bit of maturation does the scent good, making it even stronger. The longevity is also above average, which contributes to the fact that you will still smell like cherry and a bit of bitter almond/marzipan even after hours.

The price-performance ratio is outstanding. The old bottles, which are no longer available, were very cheeky and strikingly close to the original. The newer ones, in my opinion, are rather ugly, but they are ready for any copyright lawsuit.

I don't understand why one should afford the massively (too) expensive scents from Tom Ford when there are really good alternatives available here.

MA has many other "gems" in store. So far, they are not listed here. I’ll just mention "Dark Aoud", "Toscano Leather", etc.

Conclusion: Say goodbye to Tom and hello to Maison Alhambra. It's worth it.

Lost Cherry at a Bargain
I am not a fan of dupes. I appreciate the work, time, and money that people invest in the development and marketing of a perfume.
For me, it also feels like something special, something I have saved for and treated myself to. The bottles are usually just prettier in my subjective view when it comes to the originals. The whole experience is something unique. You walk past the beautiful, expensive bottles in everyday life and take joy in them. You proudly share and show off your achievements, even if you sometimes get laughed at.

Now to the actual topic:
I love Lost Cherry by Tom Ford; it reminds me of that cherry-flavored popsicle. My favorite summer ice cream. This little 30ml bottle ran out, and out of curiosity, I ordered the Maison Alhambra - forbidden love, as it only cost me 12 euros in the smallest version. I didn't expect much. I expected a stench that wouldn't come close to the well-known original.

Unfortunately, I have to say that in this case, the dupe is just as right for me as the original but with better longevity. It may be because in both cases, the production costs are rather low, and the cherry smells synthetic here and there.

This scent smells like cherry from start to finish, accompanied by a light but pleasant alcoholic note in the background, which at least for me remains consistently present. It feels very sticky. The longevity for me is really good at about 8 hours. The sillage is okay. Present in the first 4 hours, but then it declines.

My conclusion is: it smells for me at least 1 to 1 like its model. I have smelled several dupes so far, and 90 percent similarity is not enough for me; I want the 100% that I love so much. Now I find myself comparing a 12 euro scent per 30 ML with a 165€ scent for 30 ML. Both smell the same, and the Maison Alhambra lasts even better.

As mentioned above, I appreciate the work that others invest. Or the research, and I pay money for natural ingredients and elaborately crafted perfumes. And the beauty of the bottles.

Well, with Lost Cherry, probably none of that applies exactly. The production costs are kept in check, synthetic ingredients, a plastic cap on the bottle, which is prettier to me but also looks "cheap."

But a significant price difference of 150€! Uff, that number makes it difficult. If forbidden love cost 50€, I would stick with Lost Cherry, even though it would be foolish. But at 12€, I really can't do otherwise, can I?

My conclusion: Those who love Lost Cherry will love this Forbidden Love just as much. Those who only like the scent and don't have a quirk like mine will buy Forbidden Love without regret. For those who share my obsession, this dupe will be challenging. While it is clear to me that I don't want 90% with a Vulcan Feu compared to God of Fire, as I find the mango in God of Fire better, Forbidden Love can thoroughly convince me here.

It's also worth a blind buy if you've always wanted to try Tom Ford's Lost Cherry but find it too expensive for a test. Moreover, decants already cost more than this bottle.

At this price, Tom Ford can pack it up! Absolutely amazing cherry scent with gourmand accents. Great performance too! Worth it.

It just smells the same.

I find it even better than the original. The cherry is no longer so overpowering and smells very natural. H/S is better than in Lost.
