Extreme Opening. Not easy wearing.
Phewwwwwww! Okay, off the rip let me say that this a steal of a deal for the ticket price, and the notes are excellently represented here. That said, this is what fragrance reviewers would call “challenging.”

The base woody notes are aggressive and loud. They jump out quicker and fuller than any fruity note listed here. There may be an array of fruity notes and accords accounted for, yet none are juicy or even particularly sweet. Another reviewer mentioned the fruits even reading medicinal. I couldn’t agree more; the orange is bitter orange peel essential oil and wrinkled prunes. The modern palette wouldn’t call this sweet.

The woody accords are prominent, and I was shocked to learn that to learn that there are only two wood notes along with a grass note because this an aggressive, highly niche smelling scent. In other words, you wouldn’t get compliments like “you smell good” when wearing this. “Sugarwood” is well expressed but that doesn’t mean it’s “mass appealing.”

Consider this a wood scent before you add up any other notes or accords. The marketing is cool and the note pyramid is a promising reason to sample. However, just like the almost nuclear “Tyrannosaurs Rex” by Zoologist, “Sugarwood” has an intense gasoline accord experience, and that alone often repels casual fragrance wearers. You don’t want to wear this to a party or family get together unless you want people to keep about 6 feet from you. Is it well articulated and incredibly alt-coded? 100%. Does that change my thoughts about it? No, not really.

Strong medicinal nose burning cherry, made me go “whoooooh!” After every sniff. It’s interesting but very punchy and aggressive
