My first impression
About the fragrance

This fragrance really surprised me. It is a slightly soapy lavender scent that is reminiscent of a barbershop. With its 19% oil content, the fragrance remains light and airy. At least after the first spray, it doesn't seem like a particularly strong fragrance to me. The name "Killer Instinct" is not what I had in mind, but the description "men's fragrance for the office/business" still fits.

I hope that the fragrance performs well as I am used to this from Marc Gebauer and feel quite comfortable with it. But I suspect that this one will be the weakest of the bunch. Note: weakest doesn't always mean weak, especially with this brand. Nevertheless unusual.

The only comparisons I can think of right now are Amber pour Homme Eau de Toilette and Silver Marble. Silver Marble is perhaps a little closer, as Prada is already a powerhouse. But I also have to mention that I'm not very familiar with barbershop fragrances.

As I write these lines, Killer Instinct is becoming increasingly woody and intense. It retains its soft lavender note. After my first 10 minutes with the fragrance, I am in a positive mood.

One day later
Unfortunately, I realized that the fragrance does not perform well. I wore about 15 sprays yesterday. After I went to the hairdresser, I only smelled the inexpensive Colognia, which was sprayed on me a few times. unfortunately, Killer Instinct became completely invisible. That's a shame, especially because I otherwise really like the fragrance.

But it's also possible that I'm simply scent-blind with this fragrance. I also have that with Baccarat Rouge 540 Eau de Parfum or Layton, for example. I simply can't smell them, even though they are very strong. This is a very unusual assumption, but I find it even harder to imagine that Marc Gebauer would release a fragrance called KILLER INSTINCT that is only perceptible for 1 hour.

Two days later
Unfortunately, I could not perceive any improvement. In the meantime, some statements and reviews have already been received on Parfum. Without wanting to sound derogatory, I suspect that these are "fanboys". Unfortunately, the performance is really bad. I showed the fragrance to two friends and they had the same impression.
To the axe

As it was of course a gift, I won't be critical but simply give my observations neutrally. First of all, it is really big and the head weighs 1.6 kg. So it's quite a massive piece. The wall bracket seems sturdy, but I would still be afraid to hang it up. If it were to fall down, it would definitely break the floor. This thing is a killer instrument Wink

Unfortunately, my copy has the problem that the letters simply peel off and fall off. That's a shame, of course, and doesn't help the impression of quality.

A sentence with "x"
I have rarely been as excited about a fragrance as I was about this one. Expectations were very high, as all Marc Gebauer fragrances to date have had a beast mode.

I am all the more disappointed now...

Initially, the blackcurrant and green notes come through well, while oud and grapefruit completely escape my nose.
In the (short) course, a strange lavender - musk mixture joins in and then it remains very linear.

The fragrance lingers on the skin for about 2 hours before it disappears completely. We don't even need to talk about sillage here.

Based on the notes alone, I was expecting something much more intense. So it has now become an irrelevant fragrance that is allowed to move on.

That was probably nothing Mr. Gebauer!

Big disappointment as an MG fan
Marc, what have you done? This fragrance is extremely different from the other MG fragrances. For me, the sillage and durability are rated as "very weak". 0% compliments are pre-programmed and after 20 minutes, you can hardly perceive the fragrance. I also think that the name "Killer Instinct" is absolutely inappropriate. It is not a killer. Even in the business world, it is definitely not perceived as a "killer".

Airy office fragrance - also a layering monster
First of all, like everyone else here, I have to say that the name is a little misleading. But anyone who follows Marc's livestreams on Twitch will know that Marc has always advertised the fragrance as an office fragrance. Many people simply had the wrong expectations of the fragrance.

Fragrance: In my opinion, Killer Instinct is an absolutely well-made office fragrance with a creamy lavender note in the drydown that is more suitable for use in the office in summer.
You can also detect light, bright woods throughout the fragrance.
It is also very airy and can also be used as a layering fragrance.
Above all, it can lend airiness to sweet, strong fragrances and transform the slightly pungent notes into pleasant creamy notes.
For me, the fragrance is an absolute success.

Longevity/sillage:
For an office fragrance, the durability is average. It is not intrusive and due to the composition of its light ingredients, it lays on the skin and others do not notice it so strongly. Of course, if you are used to Gebauer fragrances, this one performs moderately.
But Marc has emphasized often enough that it shouldn't bother anyone. Nevertheless, it could radiate a little more.

I think the fragrance is an absolute success and I wear it very often. And I don't care what others say or whether others criticize Marc. What he does simply has quality.

Good but not a killer instinct
Marc Gebauer's fragrances are all a blast, whether you like them or not is something else.
Everyone has their own taste and expectations.

I have already made a lot of blind buys, unfortunately this is one of the weaker ones.

The fragrance takes some getting used to, especially at the beginning, not a killer scent but rather musk and shaving foam.
After about 5 - 10 seconds, the top note is gone, leaving flowers and woods with a little amber which makes the whole thing sweet.

That's it, unfortunately.

You can clearly smell Gebauer's DNA, this one doesn't have much to do with the performance (19% fragrance oil) and the fragrance experience of the first three fragrances.
It seems to me that Gebauer unfortunately no longer puts so much emotion and passion into its products, only money comes first.

For someone who is looking for an almost old-school fragrance with some flower, wood and barbershop vibe is right here, someone who is looking for an extraordinary fragrance with a strong sillage must unfortunately look further or make friends with the first three fragrances of Gebauer.
