Not an Alien for Me
There is a perfume YouTuber who found this scent incredibly wonderful and saw it as an "old" Alien fragrance twin. I was influenced by this description, as I unfortunately no longer like the reformulated version. I expected a scent with impact and depth, but in reality, it does not meet that expectation (for me).
There is a similarity, but it has a rather "old-fashioned" jasmine and a multitude of floral nuances. In combination, it comes across as classic and clean but also less modern. The name is misleading from my perspective, as it does not meet the criteria of a gourmand for me. The vanilla is quite hidden in the background, and even though there is a subtle sweetness, it is relatively restrained. In the dry down, it then disappears quite quickly, leaving behind the floral jasmine. The sillage is also rather intimate. Compared to Alien, it lacks sensuality and the interplay/alternation of notes. It remains very linear and exudes coolness, which is why I can imagine it well for spring and summer. In the end, Splendid Bronze is more of its own fragrance, which certainly has some admirers, but those hoping for Alien DNA might be disappointed.
