Unripe tangerines, weak tea and chalky sugar candies
Initial citrus cloud is pretty large and thick – like walking through scented fog, but not necessarily pleasant. Tangerines, sure. But not very ripe, and of that weird variety with lots of pits and thin skin that only comes off in tiny bits and pieces. By the time I'm done peeling it, I'm too annoyed to properly enjoy the contents.
The cloud settles within the first ~10 minutes and for a little while becomes grassy as citrus mixes with the violet leaves. Neat, but fleeting. Tangerines? Already gone.
Another ~10 minutes and citrus completely fizzles out. It's almost tea-like now. But the brew is weak and there are at least two spoonfuls of sugar in it. And I personally am a hater of tea with sugar.
It's fading rather quickly. Another ~30 minutes passes and the base notes become the most prominent. Sweet, but weirdly textured. I wouldn't call them "powdery". Rather "chalky". Like super cheap cigarette shaped candies that are 99% sugar, but somehow taste like dry concrete.
From there it takes another hour to completely fade away into nothing.
I tested it on my partner later to see if this underwhelming result was just my skin's personal issue – it wasn't. It did last maybe ~30 minutes longer on him overall, but behaved in an identical way otherwise. Welp.
