Play-doh vanilla with bad performance
Slightly rubbery vanilla with some smoky facets. Not a bad scent, especially for those who want a budget alternative to some of the more expensive vanilla scents out there like Spiritueuse Double Vanille. Not ultra sweet, the musk flattens it out and brings the vanilla down to earth. The main problem is the performance, at least on my skin. I have to stick my nose to where I sprayed to get anything after a couple of hours.

Well, somehow not easy… even though the scent is so simple…
In general, vanilla scents and I are in harmony. I know they are currently flooding the market, but I associate winter with vanilla, which is why I wear many fragrances of this kind. Through a consultation at a small perfumery, I came across Une Vanille by Obvious. Basically, it's an exciting concept from this brand: everything is sustainably produced, even the alcohol is derived from plants (at least that's what I read).

Ultimately, it is precisely this alcohol that makes the scent somewhat hard to bear in the first 20 minutes. When spraying it on, one has to be almost cautious, so it doesn't overwhelm you - the pure disinfection hits you right away. It's not boozy or anything like that; it's just a bit unpleasant and not at all what one expects from a vanilla scent.

No worries: the vanilla does come through, and after the little disinfection, it is also the only note that remains. It's a subtle vanilla, almost sweet and absolutely unobtrusive. Une Vanille is a lightly wearable niche experience for all those who don't need a room filler. The longevity for me was a good 8 hours, the sillage was strong at most in the first hour and then tapered off.

Une Vanille needs a moment to unfold. I notice in myself that I need the right day to accept the opening. After that, I like it; it wears nicely unobtrusively to work, and one finds oneself smelling it every now and then and thinking: yes, this is vanilla, without edges, without corners…

Powdery Sweet
Hooked by a creator on TikTok, I bought obvious une vanille. I like vanilla and tonka, so nothing can go wrong. Obviously.

The opening is alcoholic. It just smells like pure alcohol. When that fades away, an incredibly sweet, powdery tonka-vanilla (?) remains.
It is definitely not a classic vanilla and not even a vanilla extract that you smell, which is probably due to the base notes
Muscenone and Globalide. I can't even say that it is a synthetic scent, because all I smell is a sweet-powdery cloud.

I tried layering it with other perfumes, like Kayali Utopia Vanilla-Coco 21, to give the scent a sweeter note.

I wouldn't buy the perfume again. It is so extremely powdery and indefinably sweet that I can't and don't want to wear it alone.

While it won't make the wearer more attractive, this fragrance does create a comforting mood in any space.

A musky, "unisex"-leaning vanilla. Bourbon vanilla, with subtly-chemical-feeling musk. Still pleasant; a good basic vanilla.

For everyone who thinks
"Les Royales Exclusives - Sublime Vanille | Creed"
is too expensive ...
here's the alternative ... yay! :)

Twin sister of Perfumers H's Heliotrope. I could imagine that Heliotrope is a bit more refined. Is it? Don’t know.

Tonka-vanilla mix with a lot of clean musk. It's pleasant and not bothersome, but as a perfume, it's just not enough. More of a layering candidate.

If you're looking for a non-sweet & low sillage vanilla based on musk, you'll find it here. But not much else happens.

An obviously very distinct vanilla. With tonka & musk, very soft and friendly. Restraint can also be vanilla-like. I like it.

Smells like vanilla body cream and the projection is just like that. Creamy, vanilla, close to the skin. Boring.

Please don't kill me, but I think it smells like vanilla air fresheners for the car. But the bottle is really beautiful.
