Winter Cousin
I like the DNA of BR540 and always enjoy testing its variations. I find the terms dupe or clone derogatory, as the fragrances on the drugstore shelf do not present themselves as such, but are independent scents with a familial resemblance. The fragrance notes that bother me in the original are absent in the relatives, making them more bearable and pleasing for me. So here we have another new member of the BR family. For me, this is the winter cousin, as the fruity notes found in Belle Icône and Elegant Woman are missing here. Instead, there are resinous, bitter notes reminiscent of fir, winter woods, and Christmas. Not cloyingly sweet despite the jasmine. Unobtrusive, rather subtle, and rounded. Yet, the BR DNA is recognizable. A quieter scent compared to the original that does not overwhelm the environment. For those like me who are inclined towards BR and enjoy variety, it's worth reaching down for this one. Price/performance and longevity are solid. The bottle is straightforward and practical.
