Bittersweet lovers rejoice. The cleanest coffee-toned scent I’ve encountered. Bitter roast beans melt into bergamot-varnished cedar. There’s dark chocolate and chilled cream too. Despite all the cocoa and coffee, everything about it feels airy and cool. A true unisex, handsomely androgynous. Primo tier scent for rainy day reading or art gallery wandering. Its only sin is its longevity, though I was still able to catch whispers of baritone bergamot throughout the day.

Mental Snapshot: Your drink of choice is drip coffee. Your go-to fit is a wool trench and kid leather gloves. Your ASMR is art restoration videos. Your dream house is Frank Lloyd Wright’s Fallingwater. Your sun is in Capricorn. Not that you believe in that stuff. (Very Capricorn of you).

Getting ready to bake on a winter day

This review is based on a sample sent by a stockist.

On my skin, this is the scent of rich cocoa powder dusted with warm cardamom in a bowl on the kitchen table, waiting to be mixed into your baking; a cup of steaming hot coffee across the table, it's subtle aroma wafting over to you. As it dries down, you realize that you left the cap of the bottle of pure vanilla extract as that comes into focus, along with the creamy sandalwood candle you have burning over in the breakfast nook.

More fresh than gourmand

This isn't a bad perfume by any means but, after trying this on two separate occasions, it's pretty linear and I didn't pick up on any coffee (which is very important to me lol).

At first spray, I got the bergamot and nutmeg along with a general woodsy and earthy accord, as well as an almost grassy note that I assume is the vetiver. There was a subtle warm spice that I attribute mainly to the nutmeg because, though I suppose some coffee could have been involved, it was lacking that acidic undertone that reads coffee. It also had a somewhat 'masculine' and marine scent from the aforementioned combination of notes that was interesting and unexpected.

It remained this way for the entirety of the wear. I couldn't distinguish any particular cocoa or vanilla notes when I wore this either, so I didn't get the gourmand vibe that the notes appear to present. The sillage is pretty intimate but, on the plus side, it lasted for over ten hours on me both times I tested it.

Overall, this is a good summer-y and relatively 'masc' perfume on me that has outstanding longevity. Definitely a perfume worth sampling before committing to a full bottle since it can be less gourmand on some (me).
