Gourmand Rice
This smells exactly like Kaheer (Indian Rice Pudding). Its delicious, warm, and cozy. The scent opens coconut milk creamy and sweet, spiced with cardamon and cinnamon, with a picture realistic rice. Its a gourmand without being obnoxious or obvious. It looses the sweetness and spice and becomes that warm realistic rice smell. Like one of those rice pillows you put in the microwave. That settles into a more earthy powdery scent, very low key but lovely skin scent. Then it comes back with a creamy vanilla woody dry down. My only complaint is that this scent doesn't last longer. On my skin, it lasted about 4 hours. I would get some hits of the creamy woody vanilla after that but it was really close to the skin. This is for gormand lovers and haters.

Caps lock RICE. RICE. RICE. RICE. I never knew rice could be so commanding – I feel like it’s always a shy accent note. In Sunday, rice takes the centre stage and lets you experience The World’s Favourite Grain in a whole new light. It’s creamy, starchy, glutinous (despite rice being gluten-free). I think the comparisons to rice pudding or horchata are apt. There’s a faint dusting of cardamom or matcha, but not enough to make you forget why you’re wearing it. And you’re wearing it because RICE. This is such a unique creation, definitely a “fragrance as art” or “marvel of olfactory chemistry” scent. I’m not going to spring for a bottle, but it’s been on my mind since I sampled it.

~ disclaimer: wore Sunday on a Monday, results may vary ~

Mental Snapshot: A digital ditty jingles from the kitchen. Your rice is ready. RICE. The new rice you bought from that lonely stall you passed on the highway. RICE. Forbidden rice, you think the faceless merchant called it? Before you can open the cooker it goes off like a bomb. A deluge of soft, pale nibs hisses from the machine. RICE. It's up to your ankles. Your waist. Your eyeballs. It’s all you can smell. All you can eat. All you can know. All you will ever know. RICE. RICE. RICE.

tl;dr: RICE

Pure Comfort
One of the most unique, and loveliest gourmands I've ever smelled. Starts with bright, subtly sweet spices and dry, powdery matcha, then it gives way to a smooth, carby toasted rice note. The toasted rice, matcha, and vanilla linger, making Sunday a rare not-too-sweet gourmand. Sunday is cashmere sweater cozy, but subtle and aromatic, quiet and dry. It's like a very sophisticated dessert, enjoyed on a rainy day with a good book.

Imperfect, but still beautiful!
My review comes with the caveat that when I bought this, I was much more interested in gourmands than I am now. I absolutely love that the matcha comes through and isn't a citrusy green tea note. I also love that the rice note isn't powdery or floral, as rice notes often are. This fragrance is very creamy, and while I wouldn't classify it as syrupy sweet, it can get cloying by the end of the day due to its strength and longevity. I definitely prefer it in cooler weather, which I think really brings out its coziness and warmth, and find that in warm weather it smells very different (extremely synthetic) on me.

Just flat
Wanted to love this one so much but it just didn’t work out for me. This smells like an unsweetened rice cake with matcha powder dusted over served with a glass of milk tea also unsweetened. Now I don’t think the lack of sweetness is a fault here, but this felt very flat and bland? Just no real depth or complexity here, and it just very one dimensional. I feel like I was looking for something to stand out and it never did. Not a bad scent just not for me

Mostly smells like rice but with a nice complexity from the matcha. Beautiful scent.

Rice cooking, cinnamon, warm. Very close. Develops a little floral pink musk. Mostly just cozy kitchen rice steam.

I'm really enjoying the sweetness of this scent, along with the matcha powdery-ness. It's a win for me!

Very strange scent, reminiscent of scented pine cat litter, unfortunately.

Very strongly spiced tea.
Tea, coconut, and milk are unfortunately overpowered.
