Enchanted Vanilla
Magot is a truly wonderful vanilla scent - very floral, soft, with very light citrus notes. With the spice of clove and a bit of cedarwood and patchouli in the base, it is well balanced.

But the mere description of the components simply does not do it justice. Thus, the designation as a vanilla scent is misleading. For this vanilla has been enchanted. Its usual characteristics have been eliminated, and it has been reassembled. This vanilla is incredibly fresh, soft, and floral at the same time. I think it is the lavender that gives this vanilla a special ethereal quality. Here, something entirely new and unique has emerged from familiar basic ingredients. The best qualities of vanilla have been skillfully highlighted.

I find this scent incredibly delicious and appetizing, although not too much justifies its classification as a gourmand perfume. I think this fragrance makes one feel comfortable.

Magot is certainly a women's perfume, but it can also be worn by men with a light application. There is enough spice present for that.

Unique
Since I can remember, I regularly enter my favorite perfumery to browse for new treasures.

"Magot" was recommended to me years ago by the owner of the shop. He said he had never before smelled a fragrance with such erotic appeal as a man. And I have to agree with him. This scent has something very magical about it... initially very herbal (lavender, bergamot - I could definitely imagine it on a man - it also brings a "grr" to mind).

Over time, it loses its herbiness and transitions into sweetness. Sweet, powdery...vanilla...yet it still retains a somewhat "unisex" quality. (Similar effect to what Gaultier's "le male" triggers in me. I'm also sure that both fragrances must have similar followers...even if they don't really resemble each other)

The body lotion of the fragrance appears less "androgynous." It feels much softer, leaving a lasting impression - even on people who come very close to you.

Conclusion: a very erotic scent that one (and that's the great thing) doesn't smell everywhere. It is unique, and it makes you unique!!

A very special "treasure"
A treasure that one must first discover. Magot (French for the treasure) does not immediately reveal what is inside. It starts off slightly sweet, a bit bitter, and I immediately notice the clove. The combination almost leans a bit towards licorice, which I generally do not like. But with Magot, it's different. Somehow I can't shake the impression that the top and heart notes have been mixed up. Because I only perceive the citrus components after a good 15 minutes.

In essence, it doesn't matter to me; in any case, the top and heart notes come together beautifully. They form a soft, creamy unity that - the longer it stays on the skin - becomes increasingly beautiful. Later, the citrus notes fade away, and the scent becomes slightly woody and beautifully rounded.

Magot is a fragrance to feel good in. Nevertheless, it is a subtle scent, and I am absolutely sure that Magot is not only suitable for layering but predestined for it.

Depending on my mood, I could add cloves, roses, citrus notes, figs, iris, but also vanilla or cinnamon, etc. - whatever my personal taste desires - and Magot, this very special treasure, gives each of these components a creamy, warm, and rounded softness.

I will definitely give it a try, and I will layer Magot not only with Etro fragrances but also with other scents from my collection, and I am already looking forward to the results.

Marotte?
How does one translate the name then? Margot? I can't and don't want to imagine that, because then I have to think of the Honecker! Marotte? Yeah, that could be more fitting. A quirk, and what a beautiful one at that!

Somehow I find this Etro unusual. The opening is quite floral. In the background, a subtle peppermint note unfolds on my skin, which I find unusual and very amusing.

In the heart note, lavender and clove are vying for the best place in the composition, and after about 20 minutes, the clove takes the upper hand.

The clove then makes it into the base, where its life is sweetened by vanilla. The musk only adds a creamy character here, while patchouli and cedar round off the scent softly.

Although I have some quirks, this one is not for me! It is a bit too feminine and also too floral for my taste. The longevity is good, and the intensity is certainly impressive.

Anyone who likes the scent of cloves should take a closer sniff of this quirk.

A lovely rose,
shy and timid
with a green base,
making it a bit serious.
The good old Mr. Musk is visiting.

Creamy musk, delicate flowers, bright and woody notes, all rather elegantly pale and as stylish as a pearl necklace on cashmere.

Wonderful refreshing herbal lavender, softly floral and very fine soapy powdery. Very pure and well-groomed. I like it ....

Still beautiful. Rather serious, mature floral, only subtly fruity, with a lovely base of patchouli and cedar.

After a herbally cool lavender morning
it becomes sultry, the flowers gleaming white,
until in the peach-soft evening light
the June day fades away.

First delicate lavender in bitter herbs, topped with dainty citrus. Then velvety roses with fresh iris. Classic, refined, very Etro-esque.

A spicy-woody, only slightly floral scent - enveloping and gentle, present but not overpowering.

Starts cool + herbal with delicate lavender. Then powdery flowers, spiced with clove + vanilla. In the dry down, woody + musky creamy. Clove bothers me.

Floral mix of sweet soda, elegant roses, and creamy violets. Powder crumbles, lavender spices the wood. Etro beautiful as always.

A harmonious composition that, in my opinion, drifts too much into floral territory.
Better suited for women.
