The Unleashed Apothecary, headquartered in France, was founded by self-taught French perfumer Jimmy Bodin. Bodin is also known for his work as a perfumer and co-owner of brands such as Jousset Parfums (Qahua Bunga, Exclusive Blend) and Marble Oud. Bodin has also recently put his olfactory talent to work for the Romanian artisan brand Adi ale Van and the Spanish fragrance house Le Frag.

Following the success of the Exclusive Blend R.A.W. collection distributed by Jousset Parfums, Bodin decided to market this fragrance concept independently of Jousset Parfums.

In addition to its goal of combining craftsmanship with authentic raw materials to create handmade products, The Unleashed Apothecary has also discovered the market for individual fragrance creations tailored to customer requirements. In addition to the fragrances from the public collection, which can also be personalized at the customer's request, the brand's portfolio also includes tailor-made fragrances as commissioned work.

Bodin combines modern approaches, such as “sensory design,” which is also known in other industries, with traditional fragrance extraction methods.

One step in this process is maceration, which involves leaching raw materials in ethanol, causing them to gradually release their colors and scents over time. Maceration is a traditional and commonly used technique in perfumery. Depending on the type of material used, this process can take anywhere from one day to several years.

Another feature of artisanal perfumery is the maturation of the finished creations in handmade glass bottles. The artistically designed bottles are a trademark of The Unleashed Apothecary. Due to the artisanal processes and fluctuating raw material quantities, the availability of individual products may end at any time.
