Tonka Cola Mancera 2022

On me, Tonka Cola is very clearly inspired by Angel - a big caramelized creme brulee patchouli mixed with vanilla pudding. On top of this, there's a nutty sweetness that I could be convinced is a version of cola. There's also a roasted note that reminds me of coffee adding depth and darkness to all the caramel. A while in, I also smell chocolate hovering in the background.

Thumbs up for a slightly interesting take on a popular genre, though this isn't really what I'm into.

I do like cola from time to time. As a kid I used to gobble it down like crazy and yep that was the end of my teeth. So cola, I got a love/hate relationship with it.
Anyways this is about a perfume right? It makes you smell like cola. Cherry cola to be precise with a lot of cinnamon. With fizzle and pop and all. A couple of hours later it’s more like a smooth vanilla coke that’s left alone for a while so all the pop has left the glass. A bit smoother, a bit more powdery, a bit more perfume than gourmand cola. I like it a lot.

Tonka cola by MANCERA is a perfume I bought in fall 2022 when released in Europe directly from the MANCERA website. I had a tonka kick and could not miss it. However tonka here comes through more towards the deep dry down and it takes many hours to get there. Before that you smell of Pepsi cola and cinnamon with maybe some other spice. Not my cup of tea to be honest even if beautifully done. Does not smell at all like the Boucheron, where there is no Pepsi or spicy note, they share the tonka mostly.

I got a decant for my cousin and it came leaking. A happy accident that allowed me to get a peek of it before I gave it to him.

This is a very fresh take on vanilla cola, with a nice lime and a strong patchouli that helps avoid a sickly sweet spot. I really liked it for its opening notes more than anything, though I did enjoy all the scent. It's long-lasting too!

When delivering to the intended recipient, he tried it and was happy with it, and as the minutes went by he was more excited because he perceived the changes from opening, to heart notes, which he loved.

We both liked that it's an evolving scent, long-lasting and high quality. My favorite thing from this fragrance is the feeling of effervescence it achieved. I'm definitely going to try and get a larger decant.

I just finished this and I must say, it isn’t bad, but it isn’t Cola on me. It’s a spicy powder with amazing sillage.

It starts out with a blast of cinnamon and nutmeg and then levels out to vanilla and Tonka with a spicy powdery edge. I do find this means a bit more masculine than I’d prefer, but is wearable for women who want something a bit more deep. Really nice on a gentleman.

I had a travel size of this and will not be upgrading to a full bottle. It’s just too much sillage and extremely powdery.
