Evergreen Forest Well After A Rain.
I get a distinct incense character right from the beginning, and not the more perfumy incenses. More like those dark black sandalwood incense sticks, the kind you’d smell at a Far Eastern temple. Woodsy, smoky, resinous – yes. A touch of a brighter scent in there too. Some say lemon or orange, comes across to me as a fresh wood with the pitch still intact to me, maybe pine. Not much of a warm weather scent, better as a cool spring, autumn, or (somewhat) winter. And maybe suited for damp or overcast weather, too.
Sillage is reasonable but not too overbearing, and I found the longevity moderate.

Not what I expected
I read a number of reviews on Terre d'Hermes EdP before I found a sample bottle. A number of people seemed to like the EdT better and another group liked the EdP, a pretty fair split. I just had to see for myself. And I prefer the EdT.
The head of the EdP really had that strong orange-citrus scent, a lot more than I prefer. Maybe that's just the nature of the parfums, but it was all a bit strong. And it came across different than what I'm accustomed too.
I guess there was some semblance to the EdT in there, but that orange...that citrus...
In the drydown I started to see/smell the similarities. Not exactly the same but close, like the physical appearance of two brothers. I might say the EdT seemed to last a bit longer and had a bit more sillage over time.
Not a bad fragrance mind you, but I prefer the EdT (which is my go-to for anytime, anyplace). In fact I'd suspect it to be the same as EdT, just stronger. The strength of a scent can change its characteristics and appearance dramatically, after all, and I think the concentrated version here really brought out that citrus. With a vengeance.

Not (Quite) The Same
I tried an Amouage Interlude sampler some time ago and really liked the scent (I like the heavy, intense, incense-y ones). It had great longevity and sillage, too. I was thinking of purchasing a full-size bottle, but was a little concerned about talk I saw on other forums: talk of reformulations, magnetic caps, lesser strengths, etc. I figured different people will have different opinions and even the same person can have a different take on a scent after a period of time. So recently, I decided to get a 100ml bottle, and my concerns were confirmed

This Interlude is not the same one I sampled a bit ago. The scent seems a trace lighter, still pleasing and maybe more wearable in more occasions, but the longevity and sillage are far less. I purchased another older sampler for a few dollars to check side-by-side and, yes, the new one just isn't the same. The box was sealed in its plastic wrapping with the gold seal, so I don't think it was adulterated. The Batch Reference Number is 10476-3, made in the UK.

A bit disappointing, but still a good scent. Just not as great as it was. Just my opinion. And I'm afraid to say it makes me a bit wary of Amouage in general now.

A Familiar Scent...
A week ago I wore some Amouage Epic for Men and mis-sprayed, accidentally spraying a little on my shirt. No big deal, hung up the shirt a little later. Today I took it out and could still faintly smell the Epic's base - Amouage makes some pretty powerful stuff. I put on a dash of Arabian Oud's Kalemat and went off to work. After a few hours, I smelled something strangely familiar. I stopped what I was doing and checked my wrists; that's Kalemat. Then I checked the top of my shirt where the parfumes mixed. Now my nose may not be quite as discerning as others, but I swear it smelled EXACTLY like Criminal Element's Anther. I checked again throughout the day. Yep, this mix of Kalemat heartnotes and faint Epic basenotes had Criminal Element's signature baseline dead-on (particularly Anther), albeit a touch more subdued.
