sweet amber candy
if incense could be candied without any of the smoky headache-inducing facets. sweet and crystalized ambers that still aren't resinous at all if that makes sense? sweetness, spices, and citrus too.

but it's like i get the flavors of ambers/incense/resins without most of their inherent harshness or texture present in the natural form.

realistic cherry vanilla coke
i've smelled this so many times in different countries and stores and never understood the hype. in the past i've only gotten maraschino cherry and maltol-ish vanilla and have been confused by all other descriptions.

today i smelled it on my skin (and on paper) and it clicked. opened with this literal fizzy soda note. like cherry coke, root beer etc. not a coca cola gummy candy like tonka cola. the fizziness and sparkling facets to this cherry note was so interesting and loved what a literal soda note it was.

underneath was a sweet (but not deep/caramelized) vanilla that was 60% candy and 40% creamy

accidental scent club backfire.
skylar sells their rollerballs for $10 (retail $29) if you subscribe to scentclub. i was going to cancel after buying but my attempt to be cheap backfired bc turns out i didn't cancel my membership all together but just for the next month.

i was punished with the 29 dollars being removed from my bank account and this perfume that i don;t like. it's unbearably gourmand. sickly sweet. the rum notes don't bring any maturation or adulthood neither do the woods or roasted accords.

just vanillin & maltol dry aged for like two months.

on edge
strong savory biscuit smell that shocked me in how realistic it was. but also how unexpected it was both because it's such a rare note and because i don't associate baking with anything devilish. but i think this subversion works with the copy and name because something about this scent, despite how pastries should be comforting is so off putting, strange, and bizzare.

Scent
good without any qualifiers
this does hold its own as a scent and not "just a body mist." i missed the B&BW middle school era so I'm not familiar with the house, but I did actually like this and found it to be pretty solid. No idea how it compares to other bath and body works ambers but this was sweet without being cheap or enveloping. I get notes of dark amber, citrus & caramel that is genuinely delicious and nice.
