Between amber dream and sauna room
It's really rare that I like a fragrance so much that I feel the need to write a longer review. However, since this fragrance doesn't have that many opinions here on Parfumo yet, I thought it was time for this wonderful composition again.

First of all, there's one thing that particularly struck me about this fragrance - the oil content. My goodness, I've never seen anything like it, the oil content is so high that the fragrance is noticeably thicker than any other fragrance I own. I haven't found any exact figures, but from the look of it and how it behaves on the skin, we're talking at least 25-30% upwards, probably even more.

But now to the actual fragrance:
The fragrance starts with an explosion of intense amber. It reminds me strongly of Grand Soir in the way the amber is used here. It exudes an aura of warmth, softness and depth without being overpowered by the amber. Shortly after this first strong amber impression, the other fragrance notes begin to join in. I can sense the cinnamon and pink pepper in particular at this point; the fragrance has a light, spicy "tingle" that perfectly complements and rounds off the amber scent. At no point do I perceive the fragrance as artificial or sharp, as is often the case with other amber fragrances in this price category.

In my opinion, after a few minutes the fragrance also starts to smell like a sauna, by which I don't mean a specific fragrance, but rather the general smell of a sauna with a combination of essential oils, wood, warmth and high humidity. Anyone who often visits a sauna (or sauna landscape) will certainly know what I'm talking about.

I can't detect any real "development" of the fragrance, it's just the combination of warm-ambery and ethereal-sauna-like. A really fantastic fragrance for the coming cold months. The longevity seems to be very good, but as I myself quickly become scent-blind, I can't really assess this myself, but I was asked about the fragrance by a friend hours after applying it.

I don't know the Creed model, so I can't say anything about the similarity. But since this is a top fragrance, at the end of the day I don't care whether it's a clone or not. For 40€-60€ an absolute buy recommendation.

Have we found the best Zara fragrance here?
It's not even that easy to say, over the years Zara has really brought some great fragrances onto the market. Especially in the last 1-2 years, I would say that there has been another significant change - also in terms of durability - especially since the topic of perfume has become increasingly important for the average consumer through various influencers.

In addition to hyped fragrances such as Vibrant Leather (2018) Eau de Parfum or Sunrise on the Red Sand Dunes Eau de Parfum due to their clear proximity to the expensive role models, I would also clearly put this one in the top 5 Zara fragrances, for me this fragrance even takes first place.

The opening is really incredible, the fragrance literally explodes on the skin with an expressive composition of fresh and tangy mandarin (without being too sweet), paired with a very pleasant and mass-appealing rose note. Spicy saffron and creamy almond can already be sensed at this stage, but only become really relevant a little later in the fragrance

After about 15 minutes, the opening subsides and I notice the saffron, but above all the almond, more and more clearly. At this stage, the fragrance reminds me a little of Tardes Eau de Parfum and transports me to a summer vacation, although I wouldn't necessarily describe this fragrance as a summer fragrance. The tobacco can already be sensed at this point, but is still very restrained and only adds a little smoky spice to the otherwise rather creamy-sweet fragrance impression.

It is not until the drydown that the tobacco can really be identified as the main note. Compared to other fragrances in which tobacco is a major theme, such as Tobacco Vanille Eau de Parfum , Red Tobacco or "Ambre Tabac | Daniel Josier", I find the note here much more pleasant and softer. In the drydown, the fragrance clearly loses sillage, which is a real shame, as I find the drydown very beautiful. It is woody, spicy, somewhat sweet and a little smoky.

All in all, I can only give this fragrance a good rating, especially as I got it for 6€(!!!). I don't know the "Night Veils - Tobacco Mandarin | Byredo", but if it is indeed as similar as the reviews here on Parfumo suggest, I will probably never try it... for what? I didn't even pay 3% of the price of the original and am more than satisfied.

Finally, a small side note on the longevity and sillage: in the first 1.5-2 hours, the fragrance really blows you away, as friends have confirmed. After that, its presence decreases significantly, but it stays on the skin for a good amount of time. I normally apply 3-4 sprays to the back of the neck, but here I would recommend an additional 2-3 sprays on clothing to improve the longevity and sillage. For the price, you can also take it with you and spray it again halfway through the day.
