Alien Mirage = Aura Light...
The title already suggests it:
In my opinion, this flanker shows no resemblance to Alien (aside from the flankers I know). This is not a big deal, perhaps a bit confusing, as one is tempted to identify a scent relationship to Alien...
In fact, the opening of the new Alien flanker reminds me very much of AURA!
However, Mirage is more transparent than its green cousin. By that, I mean it is consistently less dense than Aura, which always envelops my skin immediately and lingers there...
The sillage of Mirage is of a completely different kind:
It is more like the scent floats around me... you can imagine the perception as if you were walking near the coast past a garden or a wild rose hedge and suddenly unconsciously lift your head because you think, "Aaaah, what smells so special...".
This image fits well because the scent seems to be carried by coastal air, as if the rough-spicy sea breeze is the foundation on which the ingredients are presented. The color of the bottle - this delicate smoky blue - also matches perfectly.
The first impression of the scent is thus an inseparable fabric of sea breeze, pipe shrub, and lotus.
After a few minutes, the pepper becomes noticeable and gives the fabric a mild-surprising, friendly-tickling twist. Here, Mirage becomes somewhat more floral overall - still completely transparent - and transforms over the following hours into a warm-woody scent that gently and tenderly accompanies me home after a long walk on the mudflats or coast.
The longevity is okay at 4-6 hours - after all, it is an EdT; and I am still quite surprised not to find any of the usual heavy hitters from Mugler here.
Alien Mirage is not lovely in the traditional sense, but it is a delicate scent with character that will likely be reached for again and again, especially in summer. In high temperatures, it is surely invigorating, energizing, and refreshing - and does so without lemon, bergamot, or similar notes.
In my view, the scent is clearly all-gender! Anyone who likes it can wear it.
So, as I said: Alien fans should definitely test before buying if they expect a relationship here...
Aura fans may easily like the scent (especially in summer) - I would call it "Aura L'air" or "Aura Marine" :).

It’s her, just her - because she is enough
AURA… oh, AURA….
will always be something special for me.
I wore Aura for the first time shortly after its release.
At the end of 2017, I had a date for a movie night. It was a damp and chilly evening, we had a little time left and hopped into the small perfumery around the corner.
What possessed me to spray such a scent, unknown to me, before a movie night, I cannot say for the life of me… it just wanted to be with me :).
And then we went to the cinema, my child (20) and I had a delightful, moving, tumultuous, exciting, and ultimately satisfying evening, during which we laughed, cried, gasped, held hands, held our breath, cheered, struggled and fought, learned and watched - and all the while, Aura crept into my nose, with its green, clear, self-assured notes,
not seeking to please, with a quirky presence and backbone!
A backbone with clarity and heart, and without harshness. Yes, it radiates for me authenticity, presence, and sensitivity and is devoid of any coquetry. I appreciate that very much.
I will probably associate the scent for the rest of my life with this special evening, as well as with the protagonist of the film and her abilities:
to do what needs to be done
to live and integrate one’s own story
to mourn without dissolving into self-pity or hardening
to see, to understand, and to remain touchable
to be oneself without great fuss and staging - and to let others be as they are
And in all of this, to be aware of the connectedness of all beings…
Especially when I wear AURA, it becomes clear to me that I wear scents for MYSELF; that my essential impulse is to emphasize, strengthen, or protect certain facets of myself… In other words, the intention to achieve a specific effect on others with a scent is foreign to me.
Neither with my scents nor with my clothing do I rack my brain over what others think and wear what I feel like; simply because I feel like it.
And since AURA, in my opinion, shows no obvious “pleasing” qualities, this becomes particularly clear to me with this scent.
Even without going into detail about the scent notes or describing their development - which others have already done here with expertise :) - I hope to convey to you an impression of the emotions and attitudes that this scent is capable of transporting, in my view.
And if necessary, I would also be willing to reveal the title of the impressive film in a personal conversation :).
PS:
Whoever guesses the title of the film first will receive a nice little fragrance package as a gift! (by the way: "I treat myself to this fun!")
PPS:
There is a scene in the film where the protagonist looks in the mirror... and here the title of this comment is vividly expressed... (but no more tips!)

Bussi - no thanks
I am not a fan of the "Bussi culture" - that is, the "kisses on the left - kisses on the right" greeting and the like...
It just doesn't suit me.
However, it becomes a real horror for me when I unwittingly become the bold victim of overly fragrant gentlemen (rarely ladies) - and then carry their olfactory leftovers with me for the rest of the day/evening...
With every movement, I am aware of what has been unwantedly left on my skin. Sometimes it just annoys me, but at worst, it causes discomfort and/or headaches.
If I also find myself at a social event from which I cannot easily escape, my torment (which may be hard for others to understand) reaches astronomical proportions…
Why am I telling you this? This is pretty much how I feel about "Rumeur."
The fragrance pyramid of this substance made me rejoice and long for a bottle. But finally on my skin (thanks to the kind donation from a dear perfumer; a thousand thanks!): I actually perceive nothing but a kind of aftershave. Aftershave, aftershave, aftershave… boo.
"Floral-Powdery"? Not at all. On me, it unfolds a downright passive-aggressive aftershave note that neither wavers nor retreats. In a kind of fascination of horror (I just can't believe it!), my nose wanders over the hours again and again to the dampened ("scented" I don't want to say here) arm - and still, time and again, there’s aftershave, aftershave, aftershave. I do not recognize any fragrance development, and the only note I can somewhat identify is patchouli…
I fear (please don't hit me!), if this creation were offered in any bottle at the bottom shelf of a drugstore for two bucks, I wouldn't be surprised.
I would very much like to speak in flowery language about the journey that Rumeur has taken me on and everything I experienced…
Alas, I only have the wish that it may go where all rumors belong:
To pepper land.
*btw, I am talking about more or less close acquaintances - not friends, who do indeed receive the occasional hug (along with scent marking) from me :)

Aaaaah...... ooooooooh? Menno!!
I was - impressed by comments and statements - tempted to buy this fragrance blind. Sometimes that's how it goes when you think you know how "that" must smell after studying the fragrance pyramid, reviews, and praises... :). (Know what I mean...?)
And no matter which fragrances I have already tested or own, there always remains a longing in some hidden corner of my being for the holy "scent" grail...
ONE LOVE arrived, and barely on my skin, I thought "Aaaaaah" and "Ooooooh" and devotedly "Yaaah"...
but what can I say... to the promising floral joy that immediately brought a smile to my face followed a damp sadness due to a desolate green chill. Not nice, not nice at all...
It should be noted that I can indeed love green fragrances - but here, a green-herbaceous dampness emerges over time that downright depresses me. And as if that weren't enough, a repelling dryness joins in the drydown.
A dryness that is not from the charmingly quirky uniqueness that I like... No, a dryness that comes with awkwardness and an annoying "wa-wa-wa-wa-waaaah" (falling intonation - you know what I mean) - leaving me alone in a musty, damp corner of the cellar (and taking my candle with it!)
Even less nice...
So for me, ONE LOVE is - even after several attempts - a tragedy in three acts:
Act 1 (promising + self-assured): "Aaaaaaah...!"
Act 2 (sad + noticeably quieter, possibly trembling lower lip): "oooooh, please no..."
Act 3 (annoyed, but too polite to really be rude): "Menno! Go away! And hand over the candle so I can find my way out as quickly as possible!
Due to its progression, ONE LOVE is a no-go for me. The longevity on me is - thank goodness - less than mediocre. So there’s no great damage; I’ve just become "only" richer by one scent experience; one that I don’t need to repeat :).
The scent grail - I’ve been quite sure of this for a while - does not exist and cannot exist; because first of all, I am and remain not always and everywhere the same (and thus cannot and do not want to always smell or be perceived the same), and secondly, it’s just always too much fun to explore whether I might still someday find THE ONE (scent, of course :)):
The ever-present, the soul-soother, the shield, the aura, the heart, the raised head, the confident step, the lightheartedness, the radiance, the warmth, the goodwill, and the openness - a fragrance that expresses nothing more and nothing less than deeply felt humanity...
Well, that really is asking a bit much!
And I naturally hope to be human even without fragrance.... BUT it often brings more pleasure, is sometimes a little easier, friendlier, sunnier...
I will gladly continue to look around. There are still sooo many beautiful plays to discover :)

A balmy day after a summer rain...
... and just right after a long day's toil, where fatigue and (admittedly welcome) heat leave me languishing on the sofa, succumbing to relentless self-perfuming.
What has happened so far :-) :
Due to the comments on this essence fragrance, I tested it a few days ago and was amazed: One of the rare, quick wonders; a scent that not only pleases me spontaneously but whose primary promise does not lead to mundane boredom, somewhat neutral bewilderment, or even a headache as time goes on.
"Like a walk..." is certainly not of forced complexity, and I wouldn't call it particularly profound - but on days like today (39°), a very demanding fragrance is hardly bearable. I, for one, cannot muster the stamina or composure for a heavy scent.
Today, it can be the floral, delicate, rain-fresh lightness, this hint of fresh grass, this touch of freesia, and the very soft, light veil of musk that gives the fragile structure underlying stability, so that it does not dissipate...
Overall, a fabric of winking, yet heartwarming friendliness, adult freshness without overly virtuous cleanliness, grounded lightness without rose-tinted glasses, dewy moss without musty heaviness, floral sweetness without girlish giggles. Mmmh, that sounds quite complex now :-). It seems to me that achieving this skillful lightness without dimensionality requires a certain level of expertise.
Neither the watermelon nor the citrus fruits are recognizable to me as notes - and I am glad for that, as I am not particularly fond of fruity scents (a shameless understatement). I also cannot discern any "earthy" notes; on me, the fragrance develops as a composition quite like the somewhat poetically described above, without really changing significantly thereafter.
It is very close to my skin and intertwines with my chemistry... I know that feeling... it feels like a second skin...
And then, finally, I realize:
This fragrance smells to me and is very similar to INEKE's "Balmy Days," a beloved creation that I wear gladly and regularly, one of my signatures, experienced so naturally on me that many do not even notice that I am wearing a scent.
Both works - and here the circle closes to the title in the header - surround me like something that simply belongs there, and most of the time, I want exactly THAT from a good perfume:
An invisible veil that transports both my mood and my personality... am I still expressing myself clearly? Is the heat making me speak oddly?
Well, I conclude here with the statement that I would describe "Balmy Days..." almost exactly the same as "Like a Walk...". Only in the dry down does the essence fragrance seem a tad sweeter to me; I assume that the lily of the valley is responsible for that.
My thanks to the testers before me; I would never have discovered this fragrance without PARFUMO.
