Hello, you sniffing noses, and welcome to a new fragrance description. If anyone is confused because I had just described the scent Orgie by Mugler, well, that text was probably a bit too intense and had to be removed for now; it will be back after some revisions in a few days. But luckily, I have another scent in store, so you don't have to sit here dry. After all, I hadn't written anything here for a week, which is certainly an eternity for Don Juan de Cat standards, right? But my cat was injured, and I didn't want to stress him with scents. Now that he is feeling better, I can also test one or another fragrance at home.
I know most of you are not exactly Alien fans (incomprehensible as always, tsss...), but I will start with the latest flanker anyway. And stop complaining, as I said, my cat was sick, which made me sad, so I can surely start with a fragrance from a line I really like, and this one can also cheer you up :DD (yes, such excuses can be used well, right?)
So... the cat is sleeping, which is good since he is under house arrest until proper fur has grown back at his surgery site. Now I can test this fragrance here in peace, and let's see if it makes me want to bite ladies again :D
The last Alien flanker, Fusion from 2019, was one of the best Aliens I have ever tested (of course, most still don’t want it, you silly people!), so I hope this one is great too…!
Okay, let's go!
The Fragrance:
Hmm, I find that despite the new fragrance notes, this Alien also starts with the familiar Alien DNA, even if it might come across as slightly diluted at the very beginning, but it is still unmistakable. The pink pepper actually smells at first a bit like regular black pepper, which is quite unusual for an Alien, but it doesn't come off badly. This gives the fragrance a slight spicy note, but it fades quite quickly and then becomes noticeably sweeter.
Lotus is completely new and makes the fragrance creamier, or at least I perceive it as creamier because I had used the Body Cream Dao from Rituals very often, which also primarily has lotus as its scent. A jasmine-like sweetness is also present in this Alien, even though jasmine is not listed here; it’s just the typical Alien aura. In the background, the fragrance seems to be slightly woody, but that will surely be clearer in the base.
After a while, the pepper seems to return, which I actually find quite nice, as it brings a pleasant change to the Alien line.
Hmm... it is said that this fragrance is supposed to have mineral notes. I think that could be true, but I'm not entirely sure; maybe I only perceive mineral notes a bit because I read about it, so this information should be taken with caution. In any case, the fragrance later becomes characteristically opulent regarding floral-sweet scents.
In the base, the fragrance smells really wonderful. The slightly diluted scent from the beginning disappears, the fragrance becomes sweeter, and also slightly fruitier. Additionally, there are soft woods and a light amber note as the base. The Alien DNA does sink a bit in the base, but the fragrance remains very nice and pleasant, even slightly powdery. Super! Well,... until after several hours the later base kicks in, and that’s the point where I like the fragrance less. The reason is the now very opulent floral notes that smell like those exhausting fragrance notes like ylang-ylang or too intense tuberoses and such. For me personally, this is just too intense and no longer pleasant-smelling, but that is just my opinion on strongly floral fragrances; maybe you ladies like this more :)
And so it remains until the end.
The Sillage and Longevity:
The sillage is quite okay. The Mirage is not the strongest Alien, but still strong enough to be noticeable for a while by others. The longevity is almost always enormous, so the fragrance lasts twelve hours or more on the skin and can still be faintly smelled the next morning.
The Bottle:
The bottle is the familiar Alien bottle, which looks futuristic and I personally really like because it stands out not only visually from many bottles but also looks really good. This time it is light blue or pastel blue and appears a bit cooler than usual, but it is still nice to look at.
Conclusion:
So, even though the fragrance started slightly diluted at the beginning, I think it has developed well. The fragrance smells best in the initial base, even if it loses much of the original Alien DNA, but that is often a good thing so that the fragrance smells different enough compared to the original Aliens. The later base is even quite intense, as I described. But many who know me here know that I don't really like this kind of intense flowers, which ultimately led to my lower rating of the fragrance. You ladies might actually like it even more since it doesn’t smell like the usual Alien, and you usually prefer such fragrances (meaning opulent fragrance notes and so) more than I do.
I would therefore highly recommend testing it, but do have a little patience with the fragrance or test it several times if necessary; it might be that you end up liking it after all. Well, you probably only like the fragrance because I didn’t like it so much this time. If it smelled like a usual Alien, where I could then say how delicious and sexy you would smell with it, you wouldn’t even want to try the fragrance,... because,... I don’t know... because you ladies here are just silly,... yes, that must be it. That’s definitely the reason: You’re silly and love to torment me... tssss :D
In any case, the fragrance is best suited for going out or for the evening in general and should be worn on not too hot days, as the end of the fragrance could otherwise come across as quite overwhelming and stuffy.
Well, that’s it again. Have a lovely evening, everyone, and see you next time! :)
