The one that isn't talked about...
I'm not a big commenter. The first reason is that I unfortunately don't master the German language as well as I would like. That's why I often hold back when it comes to sharing my opinion here on Parfumo. However, I have to make an exception for this fragrance. I am a passionate perfume collector and have an exaggeratedly large amount of various scents for my needs. I would prefer to have less, but collectors know what I mean ;). I can imagine that most collectors feel the same way I do. Over 100 bottles, but only a maximum of a dozen are actually used.
And as strange as it is, the most exquisite or renowned perfumes are by no means the ones I use in my daily life. My collection contains many that I truly love and don't want to part with, yet I know for sure that I will never wear them. Somehow, they just don't fit me or, better said, my lifestyle or mindset. Thus, I usually end up using fresh scents, aquatics. These somehow fit into my (my) everyday life. Among them is Yves Rocher Bois de Gaiac et Genievre. And this fragrance does its job perfectly in the mentioned area for me! And in my opinion, it does this better than some designer perfumes that play in the same league and that I also own. Compared to other similar scents, I personally don't detect any artificiality here. It smells freshly washed, clean, yes even shower-gel-like, but in a positive sense. Not overpowering. I think this can be worn all year round. This fragrance brings good mood to me. The longevity is, in my opinion, around 4 hours, which is sufficient for me. You can always reapply if you want. The 75 ml bottle is sold at a discount price, although for me it has nothing to do with discount. The collection also includes a deodorant that smells exactly like the perfume and is of the same quality.
I think Yves Rocher really makes great fragrances.
So, I wanted to champion this fragrance here, hope I have somewhat succeeded :)
Thank you for reading.

Metallic Fresh
Legend Intense has been in my collection for a while now. I often smelled the bottle, but never sprayed or wore it. Today was finally the day. Invited to a barbecue, beautiful sun, not quite warm but a pleasant temperature. So I thought today would finally be the big day. I love those days when I spray a fragrance "blind" (it wasn't completely blind, I had sniffed the bottle several times before). And what can I say, wow, what a great experience, fresh, it matched the weather perfectly, what struck me the most was the metallic note. I haven't read much about this, maybe I'm crazy, but I smell metal. But in a positive sense, I might be expressing myself poorly :) And this metallic fresh note lasts forever. I've read often that longevity and sillage leave something to be desired. However, I can't relate to that. I sprayed around noon, not too much, 6 sprays, and I can almost permanently perceive it on myself. I also received positive comments today. As I said, for me, longevity, both on the skin and on clothing, and sillage are truly fantastic. I perceive the scent as masculine, fresh, sporty, casual, and carefree. Good mood, simply wonderful.
In comparison with Fierce, yes, it goes in the same direction, but I find this one a bit better, I justify this with the fresh metallic note that I perceive much stronger here.
Price-wise, it's quite reasonable. Available online for a fair price. I paid around 30.-€/50ml.
Regarding the bottle, I think it fits the scent perfectly. Dark metal, feels cold and cool in the hand, just like the fragrance.
I am definitely convinced and thrilled. Thanks for reading.

My first comment, Cuba far away from JPG
My first comment on the perfume Cuba Gold? I am trying to write German as well as I can, offering all Parfumo members my grace :) German is not my native language and I do not live in Germany. I have been a member of the Parfumo community for several years now and must say that I always read comments on various fragrances with immense joy and interest. Of course, like probably every Parfumo member, I have my favorites, and I think of Leimbacher and Basti87 here. I always read their comments passionately and have been able to discover new fragrances with their help time and again. I also like to order blindly; the moment I open the bottles and discover a scent is simply grand, it brings immense joy. Unfortunately, I always have to pay high shipping costs, but that's another topic and doesn't fit here, sorry ;) .... back to the fragrances and specifically to Cuba Gold.
As I said, perfumes are a passion I have nurtured since my childhood. My French grandmother used to gift the whole family perfumes from Yves Rocher over 30 years ago; it was such a secret tip for families who couldn't afford expensive branded perfumes. I must say that I was never disappointed with Yves Rocher, and I still own 30-year-old perfumes from YR that are still usable.
When I earned my first money, I could finally afford a perfume for myself, and back then, I chose Le Male by JPG. This scent drove me crazy for years; I loved it so much, and my then-girlfriends did too. Often, other fragrances came into the house later, but in the end, JPG Le Male was always bought again. When I discovered Parfumo, I discovered, as mentioned, a whole range of other fragrances, of which I own and love several. However, if I could only keep one, it would be JPG Le Male. I know that JPG Male is a taboo at Parfumo, that one is not allowed to love it ;), but I still like it and probably always will. I have always hoped to discover one that I like better, but I couldn't find one....
So why a comment on Cuba Gold now?
Cuba Gold is supposedly a scent twin of Le Male. I ordered it blindly. I was able to test it yesterday in direct comparison with Le Male and could effectively notice the similarity. However, the top note is quite different for me. I could clearly notice the difference here; while Le Male smells noble with lavender and vanilla, Cuba has a sharp synthetic smell, I would even say it smells like plastic, but nothing natural. Here, a clear difference is noticeable. Perhaps this doesn't stand out when testing Cuba alone, but in direct comparison, they are two worlds. This lasts about one to two hours. From that moment on, both start to come closer and then eventually smell almost identical. At that point, however, only very close to the skin.
Thus, I would not recommend this scent further; perhaps the deodorant, but for those who can afford it, I would definitely prefer the original Le Male. Everyone will smell the difference, perhaps only unconsciously, but in direct comparison, certainly consciously.
