Fragrance for Petrolheads
… THE! Fragrance for those with petrol in their blood!

Anyone who has been to the Emirates knows that
high-horsepower cars & oud-heavy fragrances are part of everyday life there.
This is the first fragrance that truly authentically reflects the United Arab Emirates for me.
Not necessarily because of the two things mentioned above, but because everything revolves around oil/luxury and basically everything has emerged from that.

UAE starts as an oud/rose mix with a petrol station or underground garage accord & a light crude oil note. In between, you occasionally catch a whiff of blackcurrant & clove, which beautifully rounds everything off.
This theme runs like a red thread through to the end.
For me, it’s actually the perfect fragrance for the modern sports car driver over 30.
Everything is typically Roja, perfectly intertwined, and simply smells damn luxurious!

When it comes to longevity & projection, it’s a beast.
Easily 12 hours & practically impossible to wash off.

Definitely a signature/buy candidate.

…the name says it all.

My second comment goes to this awesome fragrance specimen, which has even made it into my "signature scent" category.

I first tested F.F. in mid-2017 when the fragrance was newly released.
I thought it was great back then, but somehow I was a bit put off by the "new extravagant limited edition" price for 50ml; there wasn't a 100ml available at that time.
Now, a good 3 years later, I was reminded of F.F. by one of the latest comments.
I then treated myself to the 100ml thanks to various discounts.
Whether I let myself be too influenced by the name... well, so be it.

Now to the scent, it starts with a blend of sage, lavender & almond. In the later stages, tonka/vanilla & a bit of leather join in.
In my opinion, it stays that way until the end.
The longevity on me is about 8 hours, although I find that it only becomes skin-close after about 3-4 hours.

The classification is rather unisex, as it does bring a certain moderate sweetness. The leather then pulls it back towards the masculine later on.
Some say it resembles PdM Pegasus. Aside from almond, I see no parallels, especially since Pegasus is significantly sweeter.
Bottle typical of TF, this time black-matte.

…masculine, sexy, awesome or simply put, F*ckig Fabulous!

Oud par excellence...
…definitely, this is how I title this masterpiece to which I also dedicate my first comment.

But before I get to the scent itself & the description, I would like to briefly address the "fake news" circulating about Fragrance de Bois on the internet.
It is claimed that during the transition from EdP to Parfum, the fragrances were reformulated, no Oud oil is used anymore & that they have significantly worse performance.

This is not true!

I can reassure you, because the color of the perfume, the longevity & texture
(very oily spray film) are absolutely identical to the EdP version.
The only thing that has changed is the labeling on the bottles & the packaging. That's all there is to it.

Now to the scent: The claim that many smell cheese in the top note is really nonsense, as there is absolutely none of that.
ONI starts with cardamom & very medicinal, oily Oud, which carries through to the end. In the middle phase, saffron and wood join in; drydown in amber-vanilla.
Everything harmonizes perfectly together & smells simply, unfortunately ... amazing!

I find a comparison with Oud Wood rather difficult, as the differences are too great & the ONI is significantly more complex, stronger ... almost gigantic.
Longevity is easily 10 hours and due to the oily consistency, you still have something of it even after showering ;).

The scent comes in a black velvet box. A certificate stating that the perfume consists of pure natural Oud oil with the origin of the Oud is also included, along with an Oud wood chip.
Here you can tell that 110% commitment to quality is upheld.

I am absolutely convinced by Fragrance de Bois & look forward to more fragrances.
