The other day at Dior Perfume Lab
Good morning, François
Good morning, Robert

Robert: Been here for a while?
François: Yes! I completely forgot that today the new eau de toilette has to be finished.
Robert: Oh dear... can I help you?
Francois: That's great... throw in all the pink pepper we have
Robert: Okay!
François: And then you add everything that somehow smells of wood.
Robert: I will... can you do synthetics?
François: Jo... that's fine
Robert: What about vetiver?
Francois: Yesterday I saw a root in the back corner. Look in the back right at the shower gel
Robert: Found it! There's also a bergamot here
Francois: Ah... very good. Then we can also mention the note 'fresh' in the fragrance character.
Robert: Did you manage to do that with the proper durability and sillage?
Francois: Nah, there's no time for that... so done!
Robert: What do you want it to be called?
François: We call it DIOR HOMME 2020!
Robert: Haven't we done that already?
François: Listen: 2020! That's totally innovative
Robert: But isn't that confusing?
Francois: Hm... then we'll rename the old one ORIGINAL. Everyone will understand

It's easy to see that Dior Homme 2020 didn't really convince me.
And maybe it actually happened the same way ;-)

Thank you for stopping by!

One more comment...
There are currently 200 comments on Creed Aventus at Parfumo - one more or less doesn't matter anymore. So now I'm throwing my thoughts and experiences into the ring... but I'll keep it short:

The bergamot opening always knocks my socks off. ...and out of joyous enthusiasm
Pineapple and other fruit notes as well as birch smoke complete this enthusiasm.
How stunningly the fragrance evolves is terrific and has already been commented on here.

For me, top notes, heart notes and base notes are like little cogwheels that sit exactly where they should sit. Perfectly adjusted and finely tuned, they mesh at the right moment and really get the Creed engine going. Exactly this is the art, which in my opinion is missing in the fragrance twins... besides the naturalness, of course.

On my Smart engine there is a Mercedes star but that's why it's not a Mercedes yet ;-)

My conclusion:
Creed Aventus is a noble and high-quality men's fragrance without synthetic flavors!
However, I am a pragmatist and my Aventus enthusiasm has its limit in the perfume price.

Thank you for reading it!

Armaf's Credo
Armaf Milestone was on my wish list for quite some time but either the stocks of the well-known online perfumers were empty or Milestone was offered at too high a price. At some point the conditions were right and I took the deal.

Ordered > delivered > unpacked > sprayed and: Hmm... Crab cutter on the sea!?

Nah - it wasn't that bad after all ;-)
The first alcoholic-synthetic spray probably caught me cold and after about 5 seconds this perception was gone.
Milestone opens the fragrance with a piquant, bittersweet fruit note that somehow reminds me of orange zest and melon. Underneath is a carpet of salty sea air that will accompany the fragrance for some time to come. That's very interesting and I wonder how one could manage this salty scent chord.
The dance continues and the fruit chords of red fruit and bergamot become much sweeter and fresher. Later, the fruitiness loses itself in the fragrance and fine floral and woody aromas take over the melody. In the base, the "all-purpose weapon" ambroxan is getting ready to take off to round off the fragrance together with vetiver in a reserved and pleasantly fragrant way.

For a fresh and fruity summer scent, the shelf life is above average and projected clearly perceptible.
Armaf Club de Nuit Milestone is not a milestone now but I like to wear it!
For me, the mixture of salty sea air with fruity summer freshness is a perfect complement to my citric summer aquatas.

A brief word about the bottle:
Massive, heavy glass flacon in golden high gloss optics with enormous attraction for fingerprints ;-)
He seems value-pompous but on closer inspection he looks a little bit unclean in the processing.
I have tested the 02/2020 batch and the bottle has the golden spray head.

Best regards ;-)

Why not a perfume oil
My first experience with a perfume oil started with the question of the right dosage.
It took me three attempts to determine the right amount of perfume oil for me using a 3ml roll-on mini-bottle... then I was ready to go.

Avenue of Al Rehab opens with a fresh lemon scent, very natural, very real and present.
A short time later, bergamot gives the lemon a deeper, fresh-tangy accent.
In the further course patchouli provides smoky scent nuances and it could really be jasmine, which now resonates delicately floral.
Woody aromas follow, and as soon as the citric tones fade away, vanilla and tonka give the whole thing a spicy-sweet finish.

I have chosen my dosage so that the projection is pleasant and not room filling.
The shelf life is accordingly completely acceptable with approx. 6 hours... i prefer to add more if necessary

Avenue by Al Rehab makes a high-quality impression and is a lucky buy for me. For me, the perfume, which is classified as unisex, goes more in the male direction.
I can imagine very well that this perfume oil could be interesting for layer friends.

My conclusion regarding perfume oil in general:
I'm not gonna become a perfume oil lover
In the long run I would miss the look and feel of a nice perfume bottle and the spraying experience on the skin ;-)

PS: Please also have a look at the helpful reviews under the Eau de Parfum.

I'm in the mood... even without an oud
On my voyage of discovery of Arabian perfumes, I came across "Oud Mood by Lattafa Perfumes"

With the first sprays, there is a good load of sweet-floral scents on the skin.
For my taste a bit overloaded, but thank god that changes after a short time.

Allspice and saffron make themselves felt and give the whole thing an aromatic-spicy, slightly peppery twist.
I now clearly perceive a spicy rose scent... discreet and very pleasant

First woody and smoky nuances appear.
Vanilla takes off and takes the helm. Amber resonates and supports: Balsamic-sweet and woody-tart at the same time.
A flattering and warming fragrance... great!

I perceive a subtle tobacco note - can it be? Is that from the saffron?
At the end of the fragrance journey, a spicy-warm and slightly smoky vanilla remains on the skin.

Projection and durability is fine but not above average for my perception. It's not the big theatre you'd expect
But I think it's quite okay and as an OudMood wearer you get to know what you're wearing.

I don't think oud was processed here.
But as the perfume name already reveals, this is probably just about an "oud mood" and subjectively seen, it fits somehow ;-)

The packaging and the glass flacon convey a high-quality impression.
The opening of the cardboard box via the golden cord is solved in a funny way.

Oud Mood by Lataffa is a discovery for me and may enter my collection.
I'm already looking forward like a little sultan when I can wear it in autumn/winter.
