Beautiful mild oriental fragrance that can not quite convince me
I received my bottling of Salam yesterday at noon. Rarely has the excitement been so high for a fragrance from a sharing. Salam is currently completely sold out, Marc Gebauer advertises with the Anfas perfumes. With such a trend, I was really excited to see what awaits me.
Salam is often described as a simple oriental fragrance. I can really agree with this statement. Salam is not an oriental fragrance with the normal person (no Parfumo) would like to take flight.
Salam starts quite fresh with a fruity mandarin and bergamot note, which are accompanied by sandalwood and amber. After 3 hours, the musk becomes stronger and the fresh notes become quieter and are merely perceptible in the background.
Salam has clearly the DNA of Christian Carbonnel, the combination of fruit with a lot of musk is typical for him, also the sandalwood there have been many times in this combination of him.
But what bothers me unfortunately is that Salam has clear similarities to my Widian New York. Widian uses more resins and is a little more tart and less sweet. But the similarity here is undeniable. This bothers me a bit personally, as it doesn't make me feel the need for Salam to be part of my collection. Everyone who stands before the purchase of Salam should also test Widian New York and then decide which of the two perfumes one likes better.
Salam holds with me good 8-9 hours. The Silage is perceptible in the first 3-4 hours even above an arm's length, then below an arm's length.
