Grab deep into your pockets and hunt a vintage one cause the post 2018 versions are joke, a vague urinous/civet nuance of a smell in the beginning while then it turns into a clove and vanilla scent. Does it smell good? Yes it does, it is let’s say refined but it pales in front of Absolue pour le soir or Salome. In front of a musk god like EO2 EDP , Musc Ravageur simply desintegrates.

I had an original batch bottle, wooden cap, and I regret letting it go. It is, cause I vividly remember it, such a beautiful scent, opens with that green tea note and then what I smell is a flora note, not in your face tuberose, and soft oud with that tobacco-ish vibe. It’s a unisex, white shirt supreme scent. Botnikoff’s heavy ouds, so to speak, perfumes might be more sought after by afficionados but Sir Winston is a utmost beautiful scent. Not British because I associate it to spring, summer, vacation and dolce vita !

Clean, crisp, perfectly balanced to lift your spirit, decent performance for a freshie, steal for the price. I got it together with Vintage Green, another bomb from Banana Republic, although that might be a bit more synthetically smelling than this one.Both are great for summer and spring. Compared to APOM pour homme from MFK, Neroli Woods smells less sweet although not as polished that APOM, who in turn gets overly sweet too soon.

If it weren’t for the excessive use of that amberwood that gives you headaches The Moon would be a great scent. Unfortunately, it’s designed for people who demand attention by using a loud perfume. Promise is the same story : it makes your nose bloody and your sinuses scream :)).
Coming back to The Moon, the sweetness plus the smoke and the oud are just divine, excellent composition but the “big throtle” on the performance ruined it for me.

At least the 2020 version has a prominent latex rubber opening that cut short my enthusiasm of keeping this in the collection. It is on the mainstream side, sweet, too rubbery in the beginning and unfortunately not with the appeal scored in on of Kristo’s old YT reviews. Hunt down a vintage bottle, the reformulation added unnecessary “improvements”. Medium projection, 6h+ longevity, skin wise 8h+.
