The Discovery from the Bottom Right Shelf
I feel the need to write a comment about this beautiful fragrance, as I had to rescue it from its shadowy existence at Müller, all the way down on the bottom shelf in the right corner.
I had had this fragrance on my wishlist for a while, but I had not spotted it anywhere, as the brand "Marbert," which was quite well-known during my childhood and youth, is no longer as widely represented.
So I had to wait until my path led me back to the nearest big city to Müller, and if I hadn’t really scanned every shelf with my eyes, I surely would not have noticed it.
Down at the very bottom, in the last row, it was living its shadowy existence, the bottle packaged in a golden tin that doesn’t look cheap.
The bottle is white, simple, and heavy, which fits well with a fragrance that calls itself "Pure."
I gave the honor to this fragrance to be the first of several that I tested, and it turned out to be the absolute winner of the day.
If I had only relied on the fragrance pyramid, I wouldn’t have expected what slowly but surely caressed my nose.....!
Orange blossom and tuberose are truly not my preferred fragrance notes, as I have already tested too many scents where the tuberose simply overwhelmed me and the orange blossom turned out to be a bit sharp and penetrating.
But here, the two have formed such a perfect connection that I only perceive a fresh opening of exotic flowers, which is round and pleasing.
The jasmine is also not dominant in this case, and soon the fragrance transitions into a wonderful, clean creaminess, where I subtly catch a whiff of vanilla.
It has something of vacation, sunscreen, and carefree joy!
Even after hours, I can still smell it; it really has good longevity without being intrusive.
In hindsight, I am glad that I freed the tin from its dungeon!
When a fragrance is sitting where most people won’t bend down to look, you usually don’t have high expectations! Although that also intrigues me again, as many fragrances that are at eye level don’t pique my interest at all, since they are usually the latest flankers of a well-selling scent that is currently trendy!
It’s like in real life; one should always pay attention to the people who are not loud and flashy, and you will find that the quiet and reserved often have much to say without having to talk so much.
So, that was my closing word about this fragrance that has sneaked into my heart and gives me a cozy feeling, and it is also a plea to everyone who has previously disregarded the treasures that sit at the bottom and perhaps even dusty on the shelf!

The Changing Violet
I quite like violet scents, so I was very curious about the new Atkinsons.
Violets can be very old-fashioned, but also cheeky and modern!
My first impression was of a sweet violet that has a juicy raspberry in its carry-on, paired with a good dose of fine powder and a pleasant spiciness that I attribute to the tree moss.
As the scent develops, the violet becomes softer and creamier, and a beautiful patchouli note makes its way through, rounding off the fragrance with a nice herbaceous finish.
The scent is nostalgic and modern at the same time, as it reminds me a bit of older violet fragrances I have smelled, while I also find it very contemporary.
The interplay between sweet-powdery and spicy-herbaceous makes it very interesting for me, and I believe it can be worn equally well by both ladies and gentlemen.
A very successful fragrance if you like violet scents, as this one is already dominant and very present from the first spray to the last whiff.

The Rose from the Vineyard
My love for rose fragrances has been mentioned several times, and it remains unbroken, so of course the latest sprout from the house of Caudalie piqued my curiosity.
Weeks ago, it was announced in various magazines, and I was in rehab at the time, so I stormed into the pharmacy of the spa town, as it had the Caudalie brand in its assortment according to a note on the entrance door.
The pharmacist who spoke to me responded to my question about Caudalie fragrances with a question of his own:
“Fragrances from Caudalie???????” and before he could say “We don’t have any!”, I already saw them on the shelf, unfortunately the rose fragrance was not available.
Well, no surprise, as the entire place was olfactorily no El Dorado, there was neither a perfumery nor a drugstore in town......!
After four weeks, I returned home and visited my trusted pharmacy the very next day, which is quite well-stocked, and jackpot, I immediately discovered the pink shimmering newcomer in the typical Caudalie bottle with the hinted grapes on the shelf.
I wanted it, would have bought it without testing if necessary, but fortunately there was a tester in front of the cash register.
A quick spray and I knew this was exactly the scent I had imagined:
Zesty at the start with slightly tart rhubarb and refreshing grapefruit, and then it comes, my beloved Grasse rose!
Light and carefree with the charm of a beautiful summer morning when the air is still cool and pure, and one looks forward to a sunny day.
The rose doesn’t become too sweet, as soon a splash of blackcurrant joins in, and in the base, the scent becomes slightly woody.
It’s beautiful, not extraordinary, not loud, but for me, it’s a cheerful summer fragrance that I enjoy wearing in the office and in my free time when I want to feel fresh and subtly perfumed.
The longevity is not outstanding, but for a fragrance in this price range, reapplying is fine.
Perhaps Caudalie will also release a shower gel and a body lotion to complement it, which would surely contribute to a longer lasting scent, as there are those for the other fragrances.

Arabian Nights and the Days After
A beauty with glowing eyes enters the ballroom, she is completely draped in gold and wears a small veil over her face, so that one can only see her beautiful, kohl-rimmed black eyes.
Her feet are bare and nestled in delicate, sparkling sandals, and countless golden bangles jingle on her arms.
She steps onto the dance floor alone and sways gracefully to the rhythm of the oriental music, she is completely one with it and seemingly unaware of the people who watch her in fascination.
Every time she spins around while dancing, she releases an unfathomable fragrance that slightly intoxicates the elegantly dressed ladies and gentlemen standing nearby.
For a brief moment, she exudes the freshness of juicy bergamot, only to then draw behind her the concentrated sensuality of amber, softly underlined by powdery iris and slightly bitter saffron, like a sparkling, delicate veil.
With this olfactory delight, a lush yet restrained tuberose intertwines with the exotic beauty of ylang-ylang, before they merge forever with delicious vanilla.
Eyes open, it was just a dream.......!
The beautiful Oriental woman wears in real life a classic pantsuit or a tailored little costume and is a true businesswoman, but she also enjoys wearing a fragrance during the day that emphasizes her feminine elegance and makes her feel completely like a woman.
Oil Fiction is elegant and sensual, but never cloying or intrusive, as it has a consistently underlying, slightly fresh note that makes it absolutely suitable for daytime wear.
You don’t have to be a glowing-eyed desert daughter to wear it, as it strikes the perfect balance between East and West, for all the warmth and preciousness it exudes, I simultaneously perceive it as a fragrance with a classic aura.
I have found it to be an elegant party companion in the evening and a beautiful fragrance dress during the day, with which I feel very secure.
Everything is possible with Oil Fiction, if you fall head over heels in love with it, as I have, and for me, oriental-scented fragrances are usually not the first choice.....!

The Violet from the Big City
Be like the violet in the woods, modest, virtuous, and pure,
not like the proud rose, that always wants to be admired!
Many of you surely remember this saying from the time when grandmas, aunts, and friends wrote pretty sayings in your poetry albums and adorned them with all sorts of cute pictures.
I managed to save my poetry album over several decades and still smile today at the many meaningful sayings and well-intentioned advice.
But what is it about a generous, lavish, magnanimous, selfless, open-hearted, and bountiful violet (so the translation at leo.org)?
First, I must go back to last weekend and the following days that I spent with my beloved in Berlin.
Clarissa, in a generous mood, wanted to invest again.....!
No, not in real estate or even in gold, a new fragrance was the object of desire, and I was in the right place in Berlin.
At first, it was a scent from the Chanel Exclusives that I wanted to invest in, then my heart briefly fluttered for a Micallef fragrance.
Held back by my beloved, who couldn't quite get excited about the selected fragrances, I gave in to reason and postponed my investment plans once more.
While strolling along Kurfürstendamm, I wandered through the perfume department of a Karstadt store and discovered the generous violet from the Gucci Garden Collection, which I had not found anywhere else until then.
So I sprayed it on my arms and hands, as I was already out for a while and had tested quite a few, and on a paper strip.
What I then smelled exceeded my expectations of this fragrance - what a creamy, powdery, beautiful violet caressed my nose......!
So I went outside with my scent strip to my beloved, who preferred to stay outside with his cigar, and held the strip under his nose.
His comment was: "This is the best scent of all that you've tested so far!"
I was astonished by his enthusiasm, as comments like "too soapy" (very popular) or "You don't need that!" often come up.
So what does this violet have that it charmed two hearts at once....?
First of all, I didn't buy the fragrance right away, but put the scent strip in my bag, which I then took out again when I got home and placed on my desk.
Again, this lovely scent wafted towards me, which had remarkably held up well on the strip.
So I held it under my better half's nose once more, and again his comment was that this was the best scent we encountered in Berlin.
Now it was clear, I had to have it, and lo and behold, it was even on sale at an online shop I like to use.
Two days of anxious waiting followed, and now it is finally here, and I am indulging in violet scent!
At first, the fragrance is wonderfully powdery, but quickly the creaminess follows, which I attribute to the iris butter and which I find very well-groomed and clean.
The suede from the base note is fortunately only subtly perceptible, as I do not like prominent leather notes.
This is not a modest violet, no, it is a very cheerful little flower that happily reveals its joyful heart to anyone who bends down to it.
For me, it is an absolute feel-good fragrance, wearable in all situations, and my clear favorite of the Garden series, as well as one of the most beautiful violet scents I have tested so far!
And when I now go into my garden and see the beautiful bunch of violets that has bloomed there this year as if from nowhere, I imagine that it also emanates such a lovely scent.......!
