In love with shock
In search of a fragrance for the warmer days, I went to my trusted perfumery for advice. I'm probably a somewhat difficult candidate when it comes to "lighter fragrances" because I find it hard to get rid of my preference - something with jasmine, sandalwood, amber, coconut, ..... But today I was ready to venture into new territory. After I had expressed my preferences, the saleswoman began to introduce me to a few fragrances one by one... when her hand initially headed for a flanker of "La vie est belle", I wanted to scream in horror (I don't like the basic fragrance in the range at all) but in fact it wasn't bad at all - especially the top note - but in the end it wasn't convincing for my current project (rose overkill - but a really great fragrance if you like rose). Next, she sprayed "Narciso Rodriguez Musc Noir"
on a test strip - unfortunately it was a complete fail - I just found it pungent and unpleasant....next try - a trip to the niche corner...Tiziana Terenzi Andromeda... beautiful fragrance description but unfortunately just totally synthetic for me. The next niche fragrance, whose name I have unfortunately completely forgotten, slowly brought me to the brink of despair... just a sweet canned fruit salad. ...I was about to thank them for their (unfortunately not very good this time) advice and drown my frustration in coffee, when the Hermes bottles from the "Un Jardin..." Series caught my eye. I had already sniffed one before and it had left a positive impression on me... so I slammed on the brakes at the Hermes shelf and sniffed through the range once... and what can I say... one was actually more beautiful than the other! I felt like I was on vacation... Mediterranean, multi-layered and, above all, natural and authentic. Dreamlike! That's exactly what I was looking for. I finally got stuck on "...sur le nil" and "....a cynthere". And surprise, surprise... it turned out to be Cynthere. Now finally to the fragrance - a dreamy citric opening with a slightly woody, spicy undertone that becomes softer as it progresses but still retains its slightly tart and refreshing note. I am shockingly in love with this dreamlike Mediterranean treasure. The only drawback is actually the longevity...it radiates quite well at first, but is unfortunately no longer perceptible on me after 4 hours. No matter...quickly go to the perfume cabinet and put on a spray of Traumurlaub. I won't be giving it away again!

Slippery aunt... I'm sorry, Candy!
Actually, it is much more fun for me to comment something nice to a perfume but somehow I have the need to be not so nice to Candy - sorry Candy!
I had Candy on my "Like to smell" list from time to time but for some reason we hadn't met yet. At the moment the scent doesn't quite fit into the season but by chance we met the other day. A friend showed it to me because she had sorted it out of her collection because she found it boring in her own home. The bottle, which I always liked, was given to me for a sniff test... Happy expectation! And then unfortunately big disappointment... i had expected a sweet gourmand from the dessert section and I love desserts! But what blew from my wrist was everything but nice... i smelled a mixture of stale flower water, herbal dressing and granny cream... something medicinal and musty at the same time... What a pity! Sorry Candy, we won't be friends.

Fine, fine, fine.
Awww what can I say... i've been sneaking around this smell for so long... That great bottle... (sorry packaging victim :) ), but especially the very appealing scent description... the little package that reached me was wow! And then the smell! Please forgive the missing description - it is just beautiful, beautiful, beautiful! Actually I am not a big fan of unisex scents ... as you can probably tell from my collection ... but I have locked it deep into my perfume heart. Big love!!!!

Delicate smoke cloud
Actually, this fragrance would never have ever caught my attention...
Star fragrances I always leave out of the scent hunt (well almost - with Miami Glow there's an exception ????)... probably often completely wrongly... Until I recently heard about the alleged Dupe to Baccarat Rouge... that sounded interesting! How it should be to first get concrete information from Parfumo (quite promising) and then march directly to "D" on Black Friday today. It had to be tested!
The prelude is a homage to the kitschy bottle - I smell chewing gum - no mint chewing gum rather the direction Jucy Fruit or Hubba Bubba ... Flacon back on the shelf - that was nothing - too bad! Well, then let's see what else Big D has to offer... i am advised by an incredibly nice and really unusually well informed just as fragrance crazy saleswoman.... from "The Scent Intense" to Burberry's "Her Intense" I sniff my way through my classic baggage scheme... the wrists + forearms sprayed from both sides my nose wanders again and again to my left wrist... Whoa! What was that again...? The classic overview completely lost. No way. Cloud!
The sticky chewing gum has turned into a delicately smoky, warm, extraordinary, simply heavenly niche scent. Forgotten are all Dior's and Prada's... quickly back to the celebrity corner - past Justin & Co. to Ariana I grab the baby blue pack... i am happy about the bargain and float home on tender smoke clouds..
