If The Kool-Aid Man Was Pancakes: The Fragrance
I love a lot of Snif's fragrances but this is the only one I've pulled the trigger on. I bought it the second I smelled it in Ulta.
I felt bad for sampling it in the store because this fragrance is very loud at first spray. It kicks down the door. This is a GOURMAND gourmand. If you do not want to smell like food, you will not like this.
Yes, it is very cloyingly sweet at first spray. Yes, it the maple syrup note comes off a bit synthetic. Those aren't deal-breakers for me.
It has that yeasty bread accord that you can smell in Crumb Couture and Slice Society which I love along with a salty butter note that I really like. I like sweet gourmands but I tend not to reach for them unless there is something salty, woody, or buttery about them. That's why I like this so much, I think. Don't get me wrong. This is very sweet! It's just got other stuff going on, too.
Like most Snif fragrances, this doesn't have great longevity or projection and the drydown is fairly linear.

Snif You Crazy Bastard
I read so many reviews of this and after loving
Crumb Couture and
Soda Snob, I bought a sample.
This smells less like pizza than you are expecting yet it also smells exactly like pizza but in the weirdest way possible? The more it dries down, the more you start wondering if you really know what pizza smells like.
It's weirdly sweet and perfume-y but pleasantly so. Also, what is missing from this fragrance is an essential pizza ingredient - cheese. It does not smell cheesy or greasy to me at all. Is this good or bad? I don't know anymore. Who am I? Where am I? My only other complaint is that I think they could have gone harder on the tomato.
The biggest (and only) let-down here is that the sillage and projection are very lacking. It's also not very expensive though so YMMV.

Tropical But Not "Margaritaville" Tropical
I want to be a tropical fragrance person but I'm a landlocked flatlander and I just don't really relate to "beachy" fragrances even if I like them. I think they usually come off kind of cheesy the way I think tropical vacations are a little cheesy. Salt water, pina colada, deck chair, etc.
I like this a lot! First, this is the first peach fragrance I've smelled that didn't smell like peach candy. And it's very peach-forward, especially at the start.
Fruit is the focus in this fragrance but it smells like real, fresh fruit (the green-ness of the mango makes it smell more real I think) and the woodiness is really grounding. I usually complain about jasmine but it's unobtrusive here. And it's not salty! I really don't like wearing briny notes so I'm grateful that's not what this is.
It doesn't really evoke a feeling for me (why would it? I've been to maybe 2 tropical beaches in my entire life.) but it does evoke an image. Even before I read the description I got a mental image of a deserted coastline with trees heavy with fruit and jasmine blooming somewhere. They set out to paint a picture of a landscape and I think this was a slam dunk.
Goldfield and Banks continues to impress me! I think I will get that little travel trio that has this,
Pacific Rock Moss, and
Bohemian Lime.

Femme Chocolate With Personality
I've been looking for a complex chocolate fragrance to ease the pain of not being able to afford Feve Gourmand. This is it!
Don't get it twisted - I'm not saying this is a dupe or even inspired by it. I don't have a sample of Feve Gourmand on hand to compare. It is very similar in character, though, and the notes are similar, too. It's a warm, patchouli-heavy chocolate rose. Sweet but inedible.
The chocolate and rose blend together so well it's hard to tell them apart. They become neither flower nor food. I expected this to be cacao as a main player with a supporting cast of rose, bergamot, etc. but it's more interesting and balanced than that. "Cacao Libertine" is still a good name for it though because it does smell decadent.
I get honey more than caramel, personally, but I'm beginning to wonder if whatever they use to construct caramel notes just doesn't work on me because I've never been able to detect it, even in things like Viva La Juicy.
This is a big fragrance with good projection and longevity (as you'd expect with something with these base notes). This will probably be a purchase for me.

I... Kinda Love This?
I got this on Scentbird and immediately thought "why did I get this? It's going to smell cheap and boring and I'll hate it" but I'm surprised to find that I have been reaching for it more than I expected.
I get mostly citrus and berry and a very pink, crystalline sugar. It's bright and airy rather than syrupy and gag-inducing. This is very sweet but in a breezy and crisp kind of way - more like biting into a sugar cube than that last corn-syrup-laden swig of a latte.
I don't think it smells like the flavor of cotton candy but I get where the comparison comes from.
Longevity is not so good but it's not an expensive fragrance so to me that is OK.
It doesn't really smell "natural" but refined sugar isn't really natural so why would anyone expect that from this fragrance? I don't find the unnatural-ness of it off-putting. I agree that it smells kind of young and body-spray-ish but I don't think that's a bad thing.
I enjoy this enough that I'm planning on trying
Sugarful Sweet Nothings and
Sugarful Dream so I'll review those when I get to it.
