EXTREME POLO SPORT
For this comment, I'll keep it short:

For me, bergamot, mint, juniper, sage and cypress play the main role(s) here. The fragrance starts fresh and remains so. He has for my sensation no great course. The longevity could be better. In general, it's hard for me to describe it. It is just a really cool 90s fragrance! Those of you who were into fresh fragrances in the 90s probably had either this and/or AdG, Dior Dune, Chanel PE, Polo Sport etc.. I'm still really into that 90s olfactory vibe and how beautifully relaxed those perfumes are in contrast to so many "beast fashion" fragrances these days.

@PV and/or Dua: Please make a revival!

Dear Sedley
You do exactly what you came into this world to do. You smell fresh, aquatic, spicy. You don't try to reinvent or redefine this genre of aquatics, you join a multitude of alternative fragrances in this segment. A segment which seems to be overrun and these days only by animalic "Aquaten" with brute durability "justifies" a raison d'être.

In my opinion, an aquatic fragrance does not have to last 72 hours, because it is not made for that. An aquatic fragrance is made for summer, for warm days. On these days you should above all one thing: Refresh! Light and easy... And that's exactly what you do incredibly well! You start off confident, fresh and strong, exactly how I as a man want to feel after my morning shower in the summer. "Shower gel scent" some may berate you, but who doesn't want to smell like that? Who wants to shower in the summer with Layton, Carlisle or Habdan?

You let go with time, but you do not disappear completely. You accompany your carrier sovereign through the day and yes, others have what of you. Just not in an "in your face" - manner, but with a lot of understatement. Your notes result in an insanely coherent drydown for me. Something fluffy and light but consistently determining fresh and spicy.

The evening is not entirely your time, you need the sun to shine.

Your price is steep and there are many good alternatives. But your distinctive fragrance is what sets you apart - at least for me - from the competition.

ICON - Masculine understatement
It was the time before Parfumo when I left Karstadt on Mönckebergstraße with a few fragrances. In my bag I found a sample of Icon. Since I knew the purchased fragrances and specifically acquired, I had not tested anything further in the store.

Short anecdote:

I stopped testing fragrances in the store a long time ago, when I actually already know which one(s) I want to buy. The danger with me is just too great that it degenerates. Like probably many of you, I've sworn off impulse buys. And that's a good thing. Patience is a virtue, but should be mMn in relation to perfumes actually a basic requirement.

Dunhill has up to this point completely passed me by. Too much I had provided this company with prejudices such as "old-fashioned, turgid, boring, does not fit me anyway" and therefore never tested (if at all somewhere times a Dunhill tester stood). So I sat in the car with my bag and since I hadn't tested anything in advance and my limbs were receptive to it, Icon was placed on my forearm. 2 sprays should be enough to change my image of Dunhill. Of course, one scent can't speak for the entire brand, but this Icon was so good from the 2nd second on that I had to really pull myself together not to buy it right away. So over the course of the day, continued to smell it on my arm. The scent was found to be very good and after the sample was almost emptied, a bottle was purchased. Over the months, other fragrances entered the collection and somehow Icon was forgotten. To make room I Idiot even sold it. Why does one do such a thing? My patience then was not that of today. Good that one learns from the one or other mistake also sometimes... My luck was that I had forgotten also the sample. It was somewhere far down in the sample jar. When I was cleaning up the other day, I got my hands on this (leftover) sample. I have rarely been so happy to find a sample and went straight into scent ecstasy. Immediately I was back to that late summer when I discovered the scent. Wow. Rarely have I felt so guilty. Sounds dorky, but it's true. So Icon was ordered right back. Good so, he will stay.

The fragrance starts for me very fresh, spicy, citrusy with a nice pepper note. Not pungent, rather invigorating. It joins quite quickly neroli, lavender and sage. They make Icon feel warm, flattering, cozy. On the other hand, I find the scent very masculine, energetic. I notice the stated base notes less than the heart notes in the rest of the course. Oud I do not smell, only minimal leather nuances and the vetiver is very light, bright and fresh. An understatement fragrance. For me the whole year wearable, only it should not be too hot. Rather with a shirt than a t-shirt, rather with chinos or jeans than with shorts. A certain (age-independent) maturity should bring the wearer. The durability is very good with me and also the projection leaves nothing to be desired. An absolute price / performance banger.

In a way, Icon has opened the door to Neroli for me, but on a selective basis because everything about the fragrance must fit (for me). My current signature scent is Opalon, without Icon Opalon would have passed me by.

Nice how one's preferences develop and change over time - faster for one, slower for the other - and sometimes you have to find your way back to something to experience a certain level of happiness.

Icon smells to me of understatement with a bit of bad boy character.

Cobraa
My first comment in this forum will be directly the first comment for Kobraa. Up to now I have never had this immediate urge to put my feelings into words and share them with you. I like to associate scents with character traits, to mentally associate images, memories, places and situations with a perfume

Kobraa fascinates me immensely, he seems in a certain way sublime and rather arrogant. Less cuddly, but still trustworthy. None to cuddle, rather a heroic protector. Not a crowdpleaser in this sense, but he will attract a lot of attention.

For me, it starts out very fresh, cool, crisp, spicy. In English I would say crisp. Then comes the rose geranium leaf, it slowly lays down like a veil and captures the first wild impressions skilfully and confidently balanced. As it progresses, the fragrance increasingly relaxes and develops a certain calmness. This is probably also because my nose relaxes and gets used to the scent. The incense is present throughout. The oud now starts to press, but not in a negative sense. It gives this fragrance the perfect depth for me, it seems neither too heavy nor too animalistic. It supports the rose geranium leaf, complements it restrainedly. Fascinating how Cavallier-Belletrud created such a masterpiece with only a few, but high quality ingredients.

Many condemn the Le Gemme series by Bvlgari as overpriced and not fair to the price. It is up to each individual to judge this. For me, they are very special fragrances which, in addition to their clearly scented, high-quality components, in the world of fragrances a class of its own and, in my opinion, even define.

In conclusion, I would like to say that, despite previous praise, I will probably not get Kobraa. Even if this fragrance fascinates me so much, it should be enough for me as a bottling. Out of respect. It has to fit its wearer and the wearer should not (have to) justify (daily) wearing it with hype. For the time being I will not wear it fully, but will enjoy its quality and sublimity every now and then.
