Iris schnapps in a wooden barrel. It's an old barrel in a damp cellar - green and earthy. The round vetiver comes quietly and ponderously up the stairs.

After half an hour, Vétiver Bourbon still smells earthy on paper, but on my skin it smells like Terre d'Hermès-which I really like. A Terre d'Hermès from the organic store, free from flavor enhancers, matured in grandma's cellar.
Vétiver Bourbon could be a bit louder for me, though.

Nevertheless: I like!

I loved it - back in the 90s. My heart leapt when I found it online in a UK store. I wonder where the stores here get their remaining stock; or whether it has been reissued in the meantime - it's not always available in Germany, I've looked for it online in Germany several times in the past. Or even a fake? Either way, I don't hesitate for a second and place my order. The packaging, including the box, is identical to that of 20 years ago. The cardboard is falling apart, the adhesive is no longer holding.

Finally the test - I'm delighted.
It is definitely Tribu. Almost the old Tribu. Warm-sweet-fruity-floral.

For me, Tribu is most aptly compared to lemonade. The fruitiness of blackcurrant. Cassis syrup soda. A light fragrance, as fleeting as the gas bubbles of carbonic acid.
And there is still a bit of rose, a very transparent rose, found in cosmetic products such as my moisturizing facial care. I perceive both as I used to.

But it seems to me that something is wrong with the scent. And I think my scent memory is infallible. It's a little different than before. I miss the depth and a tangy, citrusy note. An artificial component is slightly dominant. Somehow soulless.

I am a little disappointed.

Trayee smells to me like Chai Latte with Almond Milk tastes (when the dominant leathery top note is gone after 10 min). Very soft and honey sweet. I like to treat myself to the Chai-Latte on Saturdays, from the drive-through in the size Venti.

Peachy here too, this time very delicate...a warm, soft, subtle scent

I love the image of the old English perfume houses. And I'm living in England right now. So what could be more natural than buying one of the time-honored English fragrances? Local, regional, keepsake = good conscience. At Penhaligons, it was the Scent Library.

This time I was at Lewis & Son Department Store, a department store with a small perfume section. Beginning of the month. At Creed it was very busy.

How did I only know that I would buy one of these fragrances today?
With a correspondingly good mood I was there, cheerful and exuberant. I crept around until the Creed corner became free. A very friendly saleswoman, served me. She sprayed me the fragrances several times (wait, I'll do it again on a fresh test strip) and left me alone in the meantime. A wonderful saleswoman. I tried pretty much all the men's fragrances through. (One moment, I'll get the coffee beans.)

She also sprays me with the scent from the beautiful green bottle with the heavy lid. I immediately smell and grin; a huge, wide, happy grin. In front of my nose I have the original Ombia Med Melisse spa bath that I always loved as a child.
The fate is sealed. Original Vetiver wins against Green Irish Tweed narrowly 1:0 with a lucky strike.

220 pounds for 100 ml? Smells like Aldi bubble bath? Does not last sooooo long? Label fraud?

I love it! This fragrance I could spray everywhere, bed, clothes, pillows. Especially recommended generously on the whole body, in the evening after showering.

The "take me" probably refers to my first thought after spraying. The little devil on my shoulder whispers directly into my ear. The smell might as well be "buy me!" But that would probably be too cheap, with such an innocent scent.
