The Greatfruit
I have to admit that this was my first experience with a Zara fragrance at the time. And I was so positively impressed that I thought there must be an incredible number of Zara fragrances that are good if they are all available in this price range. Well, over time, I've learned that Zara is often a real crapshoot. However, there is one clear exception here.

The first spray hits you with an incredibly fresh grapefruit note. Just close your eyes for a moment, imagine a chic AirBnB in the south and cut open a grapefruit on the terrace with a somewhat blunt knife so that the splashes get on your clothes and hands. If you have experience with grapefruit and can visualize it well, then it probably smells just like your imagination right now. It somehow smells like intense warm sun accompanied by a gentle breeze.

For me, the noble vetiver note also comes in quite clearly and quite quickly. This rounds off the fragrance nicely and doesn't come across as too sweet. Admittedly, the combination is not particularly innovative, but it still seems to be an art to blend them in such a way that something so subtly beautiful is created.

However, the longevity, which is unfortunately to be expected with a freshie like this, leaves a lot to be desired. Unfortunately, I didn't enjoy it for more than 3 hours. But luckily I bought more than one bottle at the time. It's nice to see that the fragrance is now also available in the new bottles. Maybe one of them will end up in my cupboard.

This perfume is like a good wine... because it needs to mature!
I can firmly say that I did not look for or buy this perfume to get an alternative to the now very weak Aventus. I actually bought a perfume for the first time in my life because of the bottle. Call me with pleasure marketing victim, because in this case I was it also.
I do not regret the blind purchase in the meantime. The emphasis in the previous sentence is on 'meanwhile', because initially I was actually even a little disappointed by the content of the beautiful flacon.
H&S were not, in my opinion, worthy of the price. I had expected more from the fragrance and the leather note on which I had so looked forward in the drydown somehow also did not come to the fore. I kept the perfume, however, for the reason stated at the beginning.
For about 2 weeks I wore the perfume sporadically and was never really convinced.
3 months later I decided to apply this perfume again and lo and behold. I could clearly smell the leather after an hour and after a whole 7 hours I even got another compliment. The scent stood out... and very positively!
Both my problems were solved and I had exactly the perfume in my hands which I had wished when buying.

Moral of the story: If you are not convinced of the performance in the beginning, just let it stand a weilchen in a dark closet or just put it in the wine cellar

Love at first sniff - and then no more?
First of all, I would like to clarify that I did not buy the fragrance blind (very uncharacteristic for me actually).
I smelled Cactus Garden in the spring at a friend of mine in the car. The scent spread wonderfully throughout the interior so that I could not hold back and finally had to ask him what the perfume is called.
I looked for the Louis Vuitton boutique around the corner the very next day. The prices of these perfumes did not deter me (unfortunately), because I was simply in love with this fragrance. And the flacons are so beautifully simple that you would like to hang all lined up in a display case on the wall.
As usual, the advice of the nice staff in the store was exceptionally good. So good that 10 min after entering the store I already went out the door with my little orange bag.

Enough talk about the luxury shopping experience. Now for the scent and why I regret the purchase a little in hindsight.
The fragrance opens with a very pleasant lemongrass note. Combined with the bergamot, it really has a feel-good factor at first. I have never smelled a fresh citrus fragrance that radiates so much luxury.

But somehow there is something missing. Exactly! After a good 2 1/2 hours there is because hardly what to smell. And noseblind I am unfortunately not become. None of my fellow could still perceive the fragrance after such a short time. Over 200€ ? I wear it from time to time when I only have to do short errands. For this he is then super suitable.

Maybe try Afternoon Swim? Or should I completely leave the fingers of this house?

A very personal journey into the past
This fragrance was for me the starting signal in the world of fragrances.
I lived abroad for a while and there this was my all-rounder fragrance. I now associate a lot of memories with this smell. Funny how a fragrance can really bring out very detailed images in your mind (like a movie theater).

Today I was spontaneously at my perfumery of confidence to train a little my nose. There, among all the Xerjoffs and Roja perfumes, I suddenly rediscovered this small stylish and simple black bottle.
I was directly ready to reminisce.

This fragrance smells extremely unique for a designer fragrance in my opinion.
The combination of pepper, iris and tonka bean is dreamy and develops on my skin after about an hour to a slightly powdery-woody veil.

Durability and sillage could of course still be a step better but that's not crucial for me personally.

I am just grateful that I have rediscovered this fragrance
