PDM "Percival" meets Casamorati "Mefisto Gentliuomo"!
Kajal's "Faris" was a blind buy and hit the bull's eye!

The opening is absolutely fresh (citrusy), cooling (super subtle mint I notice, even if it's not listed...), slightly floral and gives off those shower gel vibes that you either love or hate right from the start (although none of this comes across as pungent or synthetic at all) - the whole thing feels very high-quality and well-balanced!

The sillage is very good in the first few hours and projects above average for a freshie! Great office fragrance, very pleasant and definitely a must-have in summer!

As the headline has already revealed, I would describe this fragrance as a remix of e.g. "Percival | Parfums de Marly" , "Casamorati - Mefisto Gentiluomo | XerJoff" , "Foconero (Extrait de Parfum) | Tiziana Terenzi" and "Luna Rossa Carbon | Prada" (without the ambroxan impact, but more natural, but just this shower gel-like).

I like it extremely well and if you love fresh fragrances with performance, you will definitely get your money's worth here!

Fresh, sparkling shower gel vibes with staying power!
First of all - I like fresh fragrances, in all facets: citrusy & natural, slightly synthetic "shower gel" fragrances, ambroxan monsters or classic fougère fragrances, the main thing is that the fragrance has that certain something and doesn't evaporate after a few minutes/hours!

And this is a freshie with absolute staying power and signature quality - a citrusy, sparkling opening, paired with that feel-good kick that you know and feel when you've just stepped out of the shower!

The progression itself is fairly linear, there is a very slight salty touch and the wood in the base is only revealed very subtly...

A really great everyday freshness, with top persistence/projection and very good value for money!

Citrus blast with a splash of aqua tangerine!
"Midnight Gold" is - from my point of view - a bit of an unfortunate choice of title...

It doesn't smell like "Midnight" to me, but rather like "Day", summer, sun & beach - definitely very fresh, pleasing & uplifting!

for me, "Gold" also suggests evening sun or sunset and that doesn't really fit either. The bottle/juice also looks like a slightly darker gold and could tempt you to think it's a little heavier & sweeter - but far from it, for me it's more "bright yellow"!

Lemon, lime and a splash of mandarin are enveloped in a delicate aquatic mantle. This is joined by minimal floral notes (absolutely fresh!) and a subtle woody base!

As the fragrance progresses, the citrus blast opening eventually fades and a fresh, creamy touch turns/remains, with a little shower gel vibe, which I personally like.

Pleasing DNA, in the usual Mancera quality - nothing super special but definitely better as an every-day-freshie than a lot of comparable designer fragrances!

A fresh sea breeze becomes a creamy soap!
With Montale and Mancera, the names often don't necessarily match the content - but here it's a hit!

"French Riviera" is a relatively unique, aquatic freshie, with a sea breeze of salt, which then becomes a creamy soap.

The opening is citrus-fresh, minimally spicy/peppery (which quickly subsides) and in itself just a blue ocean/marine representative - but the sea breeze and this soapy touch, which becomes increasingly creamy as it progresses, gives the whole thing something to set it apart from the typical blue fragrance!

Minimally synthetic? Perhaps, but it doesn't come across as cheap and perhaps it needs to be something to keep the performance alive, which is not at all wrong for a freshie.

If you like aquatic, fresh fragrances, you won't be disappointed - for me it's definitely one of Mancera's top 5 freshies.

THE niche shower gel fragrance!
First of all - I can totally understand that many are not willing to spend that much money on a shower gel type of fragrance and yes, it may well not be special/unique enough for the XerJoff/niche audience.

However, I personally think this is the niche version and answer to a Prada Luna Rossa Carbon or Dior Sauvage - not 1 to 1 or 100%, but definitely in that direction.

And what can I say? If you want a fresh, clean shower gel fragrance - in niche quality - this is the one for you. Fresh, uplifting - perfect for summer or in the office!

Whether you want to pay the price for this linear progression, everyone has to know for themselves... I find the fragrance very potent and long-lasting (especially for a freshie!) and can highly recommend it if you know what you're getting into!
