Summer vibes to spray on
I treated myself to this release last summer: French Riviera from Mancera. I simply love this brand, even though many people don't like it and it gets a lot of criticism. Of the many releases, not all are 100% to my liking, but there are many great fragrances in the range that I like to have in my collection.
With this Frech Riviera, the pyramid has already triggered me and I had to buy this fragrance blind. It was worth it. A great summer fragrance that performs and simply spreads summer vibes and is already quite unique. Recently it has also been hyped a bit on social media, I don't know why all of a sudden, but it's definitely a great release. Maybe because some see it as an Afternoon Swim twin? I don't even think it's that similar.
Mancera is fairly priced, in some stores you can get 120ml for just over €100. Absolutely fair for the performance and this fragrance quality. The fragrances come in a plain cardboard box, but in a nice little bag. The newer releases all have a magnetic lid. This French Riviera is particularly pretty with its blue color gradient, which reflects the DNA of this fragrance.
As I said, this pyramid pushed me to make this purchase. Plus this summery name. French Riviera simply sounds like sunshine and a good mood. And that's what you get here. The top note opens with citrus-fresh notes. Beautifully juicy with lemon, mandarin and orange. Rather juicier than the usual citrusy notes. Ginger is also present in the opening. Iodine provides a slightly pungent, unique summer vibe that is also a little chloriney. There are also floral notes with a slightly creamy, soapy effect. It also reminds me a little of Replica - Beach Walk with its summery beach vibes. An aquatic lightness is also present in this fragrance for a very long time. Maritime-salty notes with a slight hint of chlorine create a swimming pool and sea vibe.
A great summery unisex fragrance, although as a man you have to like these soapy-floral accents. Above all, I find this fragrance very unique and simply outstanding. This French Riviera stands out and is a great summery companion for all occasions. Despite the soapy-floral notes, this fragrance is never too sultry.
Performance is good as with almost all Mancera's. This fragrance certainly lasts 8 hours with really good sillage in the first 3-4 hours.
