I own the original Asad as well as Salvo Elixir, which I find extremely similar to each other. I've never smelled Boss Bottled Absolu, so I bought Asad Elixir completely blind.

After reading some reviews, I expected Asad Elixir to differ quite a bit from the original Asad.

When I first sprayed it, though, it had been a while since I'd worn the original, and my immediate reaction was: "this smells almost the same".

It instantly reminded me of Asad. A lot.
The resemblance was so strong that I couldn't get it out of my head, so after a few minutes I grabbed my bottle of the original, sprayed it on my other arm, and compared them side by side.

That's when the differences became much clearer.
They definitely share the same DNA, especially at first, but the drydowns become considerably different. With the original Asad, I can clearly pick up that Dior Sauvage influence. Asad Elixir, on the other hand, stays darker, more ambery, denser and heavier.

Strangely enough, I'd describe Asad Elixir as being “more Asad than Asad itself.” Everything I associated with the original Asad seems amplified here.

In fact, comparing them side by side actually made the original smell lighter to me, and for the first time I could really understand the Sauvage influence in its DNA — something I hadn't noticed nearly as much before.

It's a very good fragrance. I like Asad, I like Salvo Elixir, and I like this one too. I did expect it to differ more, true, but I'm still happy with the purchase.

Performance is excellent so far. Projection is huge, and judging from this side-by-side comparison, both projection and longevity might even be slightly better than the original Asad. I'm comparing it strictly to Asad here, though, not Boss Bottled Absolu, since I don't own that one.

If you're considering owning both Asad and Asad Elixir because you're expecting two completely different fragrances, I'd think twice. I wouldn't call the differences subtle — they're definitely noticeable once you compare them — but the shared DNA is strong enough that I can absolutely understand someone considering the two somewhat redundant in the same collection.

Personally, I'm glad I own both. Comparing them actually helped me understand the differences between them and appreciate each one for what it is.

I'm not familiar with Vibrato or Tyger, to which this is supposed to be a inspiration of, but I'll tell you something:
for those who love citruses, this one is hard to dislike. Strong fresh orange-lime on top, which keep going even during drydown. It smeels classic, but with bit of modernity which makes it very pleasant and easy to wear.

I can smell the "Vibrato + BDC" vibe some people talk about. I do sense something of Bleu in it. It's not similar, but there's an acord there, can't tell you which one, but something definitely makes you think of it.

You should definitely save this one for office work, at home, gym, or a walk in hot days, or even a daytime date.
Doens't match well with cold days or clubs, I'd rate.

Performance wise, I'll let it macerate for a couple weeks or months. Sillage is moderate ,so is longevity (expected it to perform better, considering the reviews)

Anyway, GREAT citrus scent

I've never felt God of Fire, but I own Vulcan Feu, to which I'll compare it to.

To me, they look 95~98% similar regarding the scent. Seriously, I don't get the "green mango" and "ripe mango" talk some people seems to perceive, at least not something you can notice unless you really push it. No one but you will know it's a different fragrance.

Performance, though, seems like a issue. At least on my batches, Vulcan Feu seems to last and project around 30% better, which is something relevant to say. Although, it might be a "maceration" thing, maybe the Vulcan Feu I got just seemed stronger out of the box than my Sceptre Malachite but the latter will catch up after some time.

Anyway, it is redundant to have both, I must say. They're both spetacular.
Where I live, Sceptre costs 30~40% less, which is a good thing

After reading about all the mango hype, bought this for me and Opulent Dubai for me girlfriend.

The mango talk is real: juicy, sweet, gluttonous, tropical delicious stuff. I've never smelled a mango fragrance before, and all I can say is that I trully understand and commit to all the hype.

Opulent Dubai remains a little more citrusy for me, which is also good.
But this performs around 20~30% better (sillage and longevity)

I also bought Maison Sceptre Malachite, which is also supposed to be a God of Fire inspired scent (I'm yet to test it)

I'm not a fan of overly sweet fragrances, especially when they smeel synthetic.

Thankfully, this is NOT what happens here.
You can tell from the very beginning that it is indeed, sweet. But it feels natural, in a nice pleasant fruity way, it feels intriguing.

It's like a fresh fragrant pineaple sliced with a good gourmand perfume scent coming from it. I do like it.

Still, the fragrance doesn't evolve much, it's quite linear.

To get the BEST out of this, you should definitely play around layering it a bit with your other fragrances.

It smeels fantastic with Dior Sauvage, but the best combination I came around was with Club de Nuit Intense (you can try Creed Aventus if you own it)

Seriously, this fragrance goes into BEAST MODE when layering CDNI. Holy hell of smoky turbo pineaples, it gives a lot more sillage AND longevity, it sticks to it in a marvelous fashion. You should try!
