Favorite Freshie Fragrances

Beginning a new year, we often hear of "out with the old, in with the new" - but what about cleansing the palette of heavier holiday + cold weather scents? I think it's time for some "freshie" fragrances as part of the "new year, new you" restart!

As always, these are "cheapies" - so without further ado, here are some of my favorites from this scent profile:

1) Disney Princess - ArielDisney Princess - Ariel

Don't judge a book by its cover - as childish as the theme + overall packaging may seem, this is one of the best "white bar of soap" fragrances I've ever laid my nose on! Nothing synthetic here - just a beautiful medley of well-blended notes like jasmine, lily of the valley, and musk, leaving you feeling refreshed and squeaky-clean. It lasts 8-10+ hours on my skin, so it's worth the $12-18 USD cost!

2) "Sea Island Shore | Bath & Body Works"

Sea Island Shore is the absolute best "clean laundry" scent I've ever found - but it's actually wearable, and doesn't feel like you poured laundry detergent over yourself (thankfully!).

The blue freesia + crisp cotton + orange blossom combination feels cleansing yet comforting - and I've never found a comparable perfume or EDT, no matter how high-end, that tops it. Despite being a mist, it has powerful projection + longevity - so it's an excellent option for something cheaper, without sacrificing performance. **Please note:

  • The recent re-release from BBW's 2022 Semi-Annual Sale is more synthetic + missing a lot of notes compared to previous versions - so it's worth finding an older formula.
  • Many BBW fans believe this is a repackage of "Sea Island Cotton (Eau de Toilette) | Bath & Body Works" and "Sea Island Cotton (Fragrance Mist) | Bath & Body Works".

3) "Sweet Cinnamon Pumpkin | Bath & Body Works"

You're probably wondering if I made a mistake by including a "fall" fragrance on this list, but this was on purpose: to me, Sweet Cinnamon Pumpkin actually isn't spicy at all - and is instead a jasmine-forward fragrance. The jasmine here is very neutral, coming across pure and soapy - not cloying or too floral, but instead very fresh. My mind instantly goes to a bar of soap, and I feel refreshed and relaxed when wearing it.

4) Endless LoveEndless Love

If you crave more of a "fruity floral shampoo" feel for your freshness, this classic blend is the epitome of a "clean girl" vibe. With refreshing apple blossom, peach, and ylang-ylang, it feels like you just stepped out of the shower - sweet, powdery, and clean. While it's been discontinued for many years, my properly-stored bottles smell just as good as the day I first bought them - so if you miss this unique blend or are just curious, it's worth hunting down an older bottle.

5) Bombshell CelebrationBombshell Celebration

Perhaps you want something more "sophisticated" for your soapy goodness. Bombshell Celebration creates the feeling of a more high-end, creamy bar of sandalwood soap: calming, luxurious, and something you'd find in a spa with all-white cold marble floors and fresh-pressed robes. With notes like blue spruce, champagne, peony, and sandalwood, you can't go wrong - this is feminine, woody, soapy, and signature-scent worthy! It is also the strongest + longest-lasting fragrance on this list.

6) Flower FreshFlower Fresh

I used to love So Pink (Eau de Toilette)So Pink Eau de Toilette , but personally hated the reformulation - and it's hard to find a vintage bottle that hasn't turned + is still affordable. That's where Clean's Flower Fresh comes in: I was shocked to discover just how similar it was to the DNA of Gap So Pink, and the best part? It's affordable AND easy to find!

Flower Fresh is crisp and refreshing - with a splash of citrus (while not listed, it's more of a pink grapefruit to me rather than lemon or bergamot), subtle white flowers, greenery, and ozonic notes.

If you love this fragrance profile too, which perfume or notes make you feel most refreshed? No matter how much of a gourmand girl I may be, "freshies" will always be among my favorites in my collection! ๐Ÿซง๐Ÿงผ
