Very successful!
To get one thing straight: I love patchouli as an ingredient! Therefore, it's hard for me to go wrong with a fragrance where this note dominates. As long as patchouli is in charge, I'm already quite happy. But of course, there are huge differences among fragrances of this kind, and there can be worlds apart.
Patchouli by Micallef belongs, as expected, to the absolutely high-end category. The couple truly creates their perfumes with love and passion. You can tell.
Patchouli is powerful. At the same time, it is also fine and very nuanced. In my eyes, this is quite a dry patchouli scent. Quite unadulterated. I perceive it as very puristic. It is basically exactly what it says on the label. Definitely, patchouli dominates. And exquisitely and wonderfully so. The wonderful companions that particularly appear in the base, like leather or balsams, or even the sweet vanilla, frame the patchouli. Without ever stealing the show from it. They make it shine and let it be the star. And that it is. A true star. So deep and spicy, mysterious and dark. I have never found patchouli to be hippie-like, but always one of the noblest raw materials in the perfume industry. Micallef has clearly demonstrated this again with this fragrance.

Good, but nothing special
When it comes to Valeria, I have to agree with Bertel's opinion here. I will not be adding this fragrance to my collection. And it’s not hard to forget it. Just to clarify - it is definitely not a bad perfume, just unfortunately too ordinary and mainstream. So exactly what I personally do not like. There are simply too many scents of this kind, and they do not stick. They leave nothing behind. Smelled and then forgotten. A little fresh, a bit spicy, and slightly vanilla....so just a hint of everything and yet nothing really. I need the bombs. Trademark! And the strange thing is that I have found exactly that in all the perfumes I have tested from Harry Lehmann so far. Quality, intensity, individuality, nostalgia....just the high art of perfumery. And that’s why I think Valeria does not fit into HL's collection at all. But I probably cannot presume to criticize that, as every fragrance direction surely has its justification. And why shouldn’t Mr. Lehmann also offer something that covers this direction and certainly has its followers. Just not me. But for that, I can do myself more than good with so many other masterful compositions from the Lehmann house. And if I want, I can even have them mixed individually. So let this Valeria be, but we will not be friends. :-)

A Good Drop
Yes, this is it, this fragrance. And although it is relatively new, it has the potential to become an absolute classic. It stands out from the otherwise usual, boring scent monotony. To be honest, this wonderful creation is hard to describe with certainty. This is a perfume that I would always say you must smell to get to know it. I find it very intense, spicy, deep, and personal. At the same time, it also has a certain freshness and naturalness, without being a trivial typical fresh men's fragrance. It is definitely special. Hardly comparable to other scents. Just because I think it is typically Hermes. The scent is noble; you immediately recognize the best quality. For me, this incredible distinctive yet soft spiciness simply dominates. Without any sweetness. And yet with warmth and depth. I also find that the perfume can be worn for any occasion. It somehow always fits. Also independent of the seasons. Interestingly, I unusually prefer the Eau de Toilette version over the Eau de Parfum, even though I am usually a big fan of high intensity. But here, in my opinion, there is no difference between the two in that regard. Only the scent itself is more interesting to me in the Eau de Toilette.
So - let yourself be grounded and embark on this adventure. A recommendation.

Oriental par excellence
I can only agree with Apicius. Verité is the classic oriental fragrance. At least how it should be, but nowadays it is not really represented in men's fragrances. Because it is indeed a bold scent. Partly quite sweet due to the vanilla, as well as at times slightly intoxicating because of the floral undertone, but of course also due to the strong patchouli. The cliché "sensual" immediately comes to mind for this wonderful fragrance. That’s simply what it is. Eroticism with style and class. Bravo!

Noble and Mysterious
Apparently, I really have an unusual taste, as most people obviously do not like this fragrance. Quite the opposite for me. I find it exceptionally good. I perceive it as a very successful, noble composition. Definitely dark and mysterious. Interestingly, I cannot perceive the tobacco aspect as extremely. In my eyes, the incense dominates, along with the strong aldehydic accompaniment at times. Of course - you have to like that. Fortunately, I love it. Furthermore, I also find this fragrance treat to be somewhat leathery. A bit like cuir de russie... The aldehydic quality makes the scent somehow feel Chanel-like to me. The whole thing comes across in a pleasantly noble masculine way due to the leathery and smoky character.
Habanera blows me away. And in contrast to my predecessors, in an exclusively positive way.
