A Hollister Fragrance with Recognition Value
First of all;
every time I enter the Hollister store, I can already smell that typical 'easy-breezy-sea-coconut-Tiare-wannabe-Caribbean' scent that seems to be the signature of every body spray from Hollister, albeit slightly varied. This also applies to the perfumes. No matter who wears them, I can immediately identify them as Hollister fragrances because they all have those typical tropical, sometimes aquatic notes and are aimed more at my nose at the target group of 13-25.
Now to Sheer Boho.
When I was sniffing around last week (I must have had about 10 body sprays under my nose), this was the only scent that left an impression on me.
Somehow it didn’t smell like Hollister at all.
If I had to name another brand, it would be Lush.
I absolutely love this jasmine-vanilla combo; just walking into the Lush store makes me feel at home. Everything is so colorful, sugary sweet, and sparkly.
That’s exactly how Sheer Boho is. The name and the bottle design really reflect this.
Especially BECAUSE the scent is so damn sweet and candy-Lush-like, I find it unusually more interesting than the rest of the Hollister uniformity.
When sprayed on, you feel a bit like you’re dancing out of line. Nose provocation.
Sweet, creamy vanilla-jasmine with an interesting raspberry twist that gives the whole thing a cheeky sour fruity outcome.
It evokes strong Barbie associations for me.
Is that good or bad?
Sometimes yes and sometimes no.
Didn’t each of us want to feel like Barbie at some point? ;)
Today is my Barbie day. I sprayed myself all over and left the store. The longevity is really impressive, not to mention the sillage.
Let’s see, if I still feel like "Barbie" tomorrow and haven’t developed diabetes/cavities, I might even buy it :)
EDIT:
I just saw in the online shop that it is completely sold out.
That happened quickly; it seems there’s a huge hype around this fragrance among Hollister fans. Maybe they’re also happy about the change ;)

Iris-Vanilla Cloud
I was really looking forward to the fruity peach twist.
Well, I won't be too harsh; even a splash of mandarin would have satisfied me.
To my nose, this is a simple iris-vanilla scent. Very powdery, so those looking for baby powder rather than baby cream will be happy with this.
If this is too expensive for you: Ulric de Varens has also composed an iris-vanilla fragrance (Ciel) that is significantly more affordable and goes in a similar direction :)

Where has the base gone?
While I always think of a delicate, creamy, warm, cuddly, and possibly sweet base with baby scents, this very green blend strongly resembles toilet cleaner.
Verbena, mint, and rhubarb are very prominent, with no trace of the vanilla milk.
As for longevity, thankfully the toilet smell is gone after an hour :p

Vanilla Cream with Fleeting Lemon
I was really looking forward to this fragrance.
Vanilla lovers will adore this scent.
It is indeed so creamy that comparisons to creams like Kaufmann's or Zuckerschnute are fitting, yet it remains very close to the skin and subtle in terms of sillage.
Unfortunately, it fades quite quickly on me; only in the hair does Creed hold on well.
Although the top note typically disappears first for me, here it is the heart note that does not last long.
I simply have no luck with citrus notes; they seem to want to leave.
After a few minutes, I am left with a delicate hint of vanilla that reminds me of Kenzo's "Amour," which has a very long-lasting presence on me and is significantly more affordable.
A beautifully composed vanilla, perhaps one of the roundest compositions, no question.
Vanilla fans will get their money's worth, but for me, vanilla without an interesting twist is too one-dimensional.
In summary: Great start, but unfortunately, lemon and bergamot don't want to stay long.
What a shame.
By the way, the citrus note combined with vanilla lasts a bit longer in Keiko Mecheri's "datura blanche," in case anyone is feeling discouraged.
It would be the perfect lemon-vanilla cream scent for me (the datura smells citrusy), but almond and myrrh are quite present, so one should be a bit more open to other interpretations of lemon cream :)

....Right Hook!
""...Wow, what is this?""
I thought to myself as the anise sharply pierced my nose.
It had something sharp, almost medicinal-sterile due to the alcohol.
Almond and vanilla are very present here, accompanied by a TicTac-orange that makes it even sweeter instead of fresher. The almond is also very gourmand-sweet, not particularly green, although powdery. All in all, the scent strongly reminds me of dragées.
The longevity is really enormous for an EdC. I just can't get rid of the scent; it lasts longer than many EdP gourmands.
The saleswoman told me that many associate the scent with Christmas and baked goods.
I also think that the scent fits more into the winter season, as it is simply too sweet and not fresh enough for summer. It would probably only attract wasps and cause trouble :D
The perfume name, on the other hand, somehow made me think of something fruity-light-summery. Sicily, indeed.
I wouldn’t buy the scent for myself, as it is personally not balanced enough for me. Too sweet, too heavy...too much of everything.
Gourmands are supposed to smell delicious. But if someone feels sick from all the sugar, it doesn’t make you want more ;)
