This one is pretty similar to Gypsy Water. I feel like Byredo really has the "luxury spa" vibe unlocked. They both feel very therapeutic, clean and uplifting. People compare Bal d'Afrique to an expensive shampoo, which is spot on. If you just want to smell clean and refreshing, this is perfect for you!

Keep in mind, this is is not the perfume to buy if you're hoping to get noticed or complimented. Like most "clean" smells, this one sits close to the skin. But if you wear your perfume just for YOU this is like all-day aromatherapy. Easy reach, everyday fragrance. So nice.

I'm gonna be honest, this is one that I don't think truly deserves the hype, fanfare, or most of all the pricetag it receives. Don't get me wrong, it's a fantastic vanilla. But that's it, vanilla. It smells like a delicious vanilla cupcake. Yawn.

The longevity is great though. So if you want your signature to be vanilla cupcakes and you want everyone around you to stop and ask "what is that heavenly smell??" That will be you all day, sis! This is a must buy for vanilla lovers.

For me though, I think I need a little more complexity and interest. I need something to keep my olfactory nerves tingling. I wear my fragrances for me and not for others. This one is simply too boring to buy full bottle, especially with so many other vanilla fragrances on the market. But I will enjoy my sample when I feel like smelling like a dessert.

Men! Listen.... I'm about to let you in on the best kept secret. This fragrance right here. Oh. My. God. All a man has to do is a little spritz of this and we will come looking for him like a hungry cougar on the prowl.

What does is actually smell like you ask? It's the most smooth, creamy, boozy caramel lavender. Sweet but not cloying at all. The leather gives it that "bad boy" edge, while the saffron elevates and takes it to a whole other level. The underlying musk smells so sexy in a primal way.

When I smell Korrigan I imagine a Jason Momoa type man with a business shirt on, sleeves rolled up so you can catch just a peek of his tattoos. His beard is always perfectly groomed. He drinks expensive whiskey and rides a motorcycle to his six-figure job. He's the whole package. Smart, sexy and dangerous.

Kurai's review is unfortunately spot on to my nose as well. I've tried "Happy" multiple times and all I get is sterile citrus and a rubbery plastic smell. Very much like balloons or rubber surgical gloves.

It's very strange because there are so many other nice notes listed, but I don't detect them really at all. But I guess if balloons and citrus smell like "happiness" then I love that for you!

This fragrance is pretty blasé for me. I don't hate it, but it doesn't stick in my mind like so many others have.

It's fruity and creamy. You can definitely smell the mango. But the dry down is very different. The woodsy base really comes out at the end. I almost love it more after some time.

I think it's a fairly safe blind buy for people who like fruity department store fragrances. The bottle is also fun! I think it's a good summer signature scent.
