There's no easy way out!!
Ohhh, my godness, this is a complete masterpiece! Why? simply because its full of perfect blended resins. I love this genre in perfumery, next to fougere, the next type I prefer is resinous and leathery, daring fragrances!
Morillas worked on this formula for about 1 year, during which time something unique came out of him in perfumery.
The daring and ingenious used of gas/petroleum and car mechanic/woodworking leather alongside amber and spices are working great here!
A rendering of the sacred oriental aspects, through a burnt incense and hard wood charcoal, also burnt, on low heat, accompanied by a gorgeous amber and lots of balsamic resins.
Everything well balanced with a bouquet of spices, saffron, nutmeg, cinnamon, meant to be used precisely to maintain a perfect balance in this formula.
From the first sniff of 2020, I knew it would be love at first puff.
Since then, Black Incense Malaki has been in my collection and is a perfume monster that you can't get rid of, but which says something in today's mass market!
10/10!

Francois Demachy marvelous creation!
This was by far one of the most or even the best creation of Demachy since it existed as an parfumeur!
Period.
I simply dont understand why they had to stop producing this and relaunched with different twist notes in 2017.
I also love the 2017 Parfum wich is my signature, but i even loved more the most beautiful, resinous, rouded, balsamic and completed myrrh note ever created, here this is just the big star.
I hate the fact that they removed the myrrh for the 2017 version, but elemi is not bad either, just that elemi has other properties, that's why the 2017 version is much more citrusy, airier, less balsamic!
Elemi is a resin from the incense family, but which is different in properties and smell from sweet myrrh.
Elemi has coniferous, peppery, citrus and resinous properties.
Having said that, it absolutely does not deserve the already ridiculous prices at which the 2012 perfume has come to be sold, that's why I recommend everyone to stay and love with 2017 version, which, in the mid and drydown, becomes very similar to Eau Sauvage Parfum 2012 .
The opening, yes, is another story, but after things become clear!
Masterpiece!

Cuirs, a good leather!
This is a good modern oriental leather/spiced/oud fragrange.
I love the added cumin note in here, it gives an interesting and beautiful aura around you.
Its pure oriental, of course, but this still has the dna of the beautiful Sonia Constant, wich is the beautiful cardamom-cumin combo that she used quite often.
I love some of her creation, besides that this was replicated almost 1 to 1, in the same year to the pseudo niche house: Liquid Imagineurs - Fortis named.
I tested them before side by side and i got an almost identicall scent!
It is slightly clicheic, because there is nothing new brought to the market, there are many perfumes in this approach, but it remains, however, a decent perfume!

Fahrenheit its still Fahrenheit no matter what!
I'm lucky to have tested all versions of fahrenheit. I tested the glass from 1990-1993-1998-2003-2014 and all from 2018 until now.
Yes, the structure of the perfume has been changed, certain components could no longer be maintained, due to the aberrant rules of IFRA and other EUROPEAN regulations, but their replacements are as satisfactory as possible!
Demachy did a greay jon stabilized the formula! You absolutley can't deny that!
Good people, the perfume appeared in 1988, it's exactly 35 years, what do you expect from a perfume that has been on the market for 35 years?
Understand that perfumes, along with people and times, change, more or less.
Fahrenheit is not mocked, but rather its formula has been stabilized, keeping and reproducing excellently the unique petroleum/gasolifer accord and that unique violet combined with galbanum, leather, labdanum and other greens, is as present and timeless as can be!
Fahrenheit will always be produced, as long as the house of Dior exists, and I feel proud to wear it and love it for so many years!

Opium for men or how Cavallier excelled!
I remember when i first bought and smell Opium Pour Homme edt, back in 2018. Oh, boy, spectacular fragrance, i remember from that moment that my perspectives and vision about fragrances was changed, a lot!!
First of all, this is a classic and perfect oriental! Why perfect?
Because this enlightened mind and this good nose created only hits, namely Jaques Cavallier.
He worked a very good part of his life at Firmenich, alongside Morillas and the big noses there.
Cavallier manages to create a perfume in which amber, vanilla, and sweet resins intertwine perfectly with the spicy, astringent and fruity area of it.
You guys knew or if you re not, the fruity accords are the most difficult to achieve in a perfume, because if you don't invest a large budget in raw materials and in the best quality material and if you don't dose the compounds millimetrically and perfectly, you can achieve a total failure or in the best case, a generic and very synthetic perfume.
Thats not the case with Opium.
Cavallier manages not only to create a hit, but to create a new Opium, completely different from the one that originally appeared in 1977.
The older formulation have an extra depth and roundness, but the recent versions are not bad either. A correct, good and pleasant perfume, with a unique vibe of the 90s.
To top it off, this perfume appeared precisely in the year of my birth: 1995! In fact, we were both born at the same time!
Opium pour homme is for lovers of classics and correct orientals, not clichéd, bombastic orientals, full of tonka and unjustified ouds.
