Creed. A polarizing name with scents that trigger more discussion potential than the current power holder of the United States. And that means something ;).

Some people demonize them, some people idolize them. And then there are those who lie somewhere in between. I fall in line with the latter. I neither fall on my knees for humility, nor do I get grey hair and wrinkles

But what I definitely want to give Creed credit for is their sophistication in product placement. With Aventus, they have placed a mainstream-suited perennial, created classics like Green Irish Tweed in their niche (my signature to this day) and theme-based fragrances like Himalaya or Virgin Island Water.

Now Millesime Imperial has fallen into my hands and I was more than curious. Maritime fragrances are among my favourites - above all I like to apply them and wear them at work. And let's be honest: we don't even want to be imperial or at least smell like it ;). Meanwhile you can buy land in Scotland and get a title of nobility. But this is also the end of the flagpole.

Millesime Imperial is a thoroughly fresh and maritime summer scent with a bow to the classic scent direction. I can agree with MajorTom: I also find the fragrance quite straightforward and linear, which is not a bad thing. Also a linear scent development speaks for a good knowledge of the craft.

The fragrance starts with tangerine. The green tinge definitely creates the association "algae". But I find it quite pleasant and also not disturbing. Maybe it's because of the lemon, which accompanies the beginning subliminally and works as a well-functioning support.
In the further course the fragrance gets the necessary depth. Tangerine remains the main chord, I can perceive salty impacts. The fragrance realistically creates a feeling of summer, sun and beach. This is something that Creed does really well. Sandalwood and musk give the fragrance a woody undertone and it fades away at some point.
As mentioned above, no complex structure or special/exceptional interpretation of the summer theme. But well implemented, without corners and edges.

Now I praise the scent over the green clover, but why do I think of the following headline!?
Well, there's a "but" coming. A but with a weeping eye

The fragrance has an extremely poor shelf life. And that is probably what many previous speakers found annoying about the fragrance. And possibly leads to the fact that the fragrance is no longer a candidate for purchase.
For a fragrance in this price range, I can't even expect more, I have to. Other fragrances don't last forever either, but are already on testosterone compared to Mi. A point that bothers me with many creeds and I find extremely pity.

Where there is light, there is usually shadow. And the shadow is very big at Creed - especially here

Sometimes it just clicks. These are moments that you don't plan for, they just happen.

Actually, most major brands in the fragrance assortment disappoint me at regular intervals. Sometimes there are surprises, but that is rather the rare case.
However, Yves is a brand that paints a good picture of itself and has a good standing in the market - both in the mainstream and in the niche.

Now it so happens that I have read many good things about the fragrance. When DaveGahan101 is so enthusiastic about a fragrance, it usually has both hands and feet. So I wanted to get my own enjoyment and see if the fragrance would meet my high expectations.
And what can I say: I am speechless and Dave rightly speaks of a dream smell.

Normally I link scents with experiences and smaller stories from my personal environment, but unfortunately I cannot provide a suitable situation here. What remains is to give the fragrance what it is: a truly great work, which is definitely one of the best fragrances I have ever come across. This is charisma, luxury and understatement.
This dry and powdery prelude definitely reminds one of a Dior, but is even more profound and flattering in its style. Soon black tea and iris blend in, adding further nuances to the fragrance and making it warm, smooth, complex.
In the further course of time the scent becomes a little sweeter. I assume the vanilla and musk had a hand in it. Little by little it fades away, but stays close and accompanies you all day long. Leather, a note that is permanently present and rather underlining, completes the fragrance to something that can only be described by the word perfection. I not only like to wear leather, but it is one of the top 3 notes I like most in a fragrance.

Durability and sillage are in the upper third. Never intrusive, but still present.

In the end it remains to be said that this is or was a real masterpiece. Unfortunately, it is no longer available.
Pity, a big one who left the stage.

He is actually someone who has and finds the right fragrance for every occasion and every season, but today, he is simply not satisfied with any of his choices.

"It couldn't have been worse," he thought. Today is the date he's been looking forward to for so long and he can't find the right jeans or the right scent to go with them.

Panic was ready and he stopped while hectically rummaging through his samples and bottlings. Now, it seemed to him, some fragrances have been forgotten. He saw Essence N*3 and vague memories came up. Was that not a Kurkdijan? And didn't he even like it very much at the first test? The hectic pace of life gradually subsided.
Carefully he put his olfactory bulb to the spray head. "Hmph", went through his head. That's a good one, how could it be forgotten

An immensely sensual and beautiful ambergris, soft, gourmand, warm, capturing. Sweet vanilla, well-balanced in the overall structure. Sweet, but not too sweet. Over time, a light fresh note is added - right on the edge, hardly noticeable at all.
Still sensual, without becoming rough, unbalanced, dirty.
N*3 sounds balsamic.
At the beginning, he noted, he perceived a slight reference to Tauers No. 2.
Ambre in perfection, better even than in Ambre Orient.
A great scent without having to name a reason for an event.

When he was able to fully assign the impressions and memories from his world of thoughts and returned to the present, he found himself smiling.
It happened so fast. He had found his scent.

Now just keep your nose in your clothes. Maybe this will help...

I write this comment with reverence. To date, no male creature has "dared" to write a comment. I would like to change that and describe how I feel this fragrance.

But I am writing not only out of reverence for the above mentioned reason, but also because I have this before this masterpiece.

In the course of an exchange of different fragrances, I had the pleasure to get to know the other side - the female niche - better. When asked whether it would be right for me to enclose scented mail that tends to be feminine, I even insisted on it. Because you never know if it might not be the fragrance for your good friend, your girlfriend herself or even for myself.
I have no regrets

Emilie is a thoroughly exciting fragrance, with charm and a great charisma.
This sweet-earthy thing really attracts me and I can understand the association of Verbaplex, although thank God I haven't blown the fuses yet. But what is not, that can still be ;)

Especially the basic tenor of berries and patchouli knows how to slowly lull its wearer into a lull, to lay itself around you like a protecting hand. Somewhere pepper still plays a subordinate role, but I am not able to interpret it clearly.

It doesn't take much. Two sprayers are the maximum and then she still accompanies you for a full day.
A truly noble fragrance that is as beautiful as its wearer. In my opinion, it also fits very well to the lady who kindly added it to my collection :)

But: I like to wear it too. And that although it doesn't fit my actual taste at all!

Why the chosen headline: well, I would like to call the bottle my own, but have not yet found a supplier.
But the search continues...

The so beautifully warm smoky presence,
also has light vanilla frequency.
And yet the scent is not only warm,
