It’s like Polo

I bought a decant of Orion knowing the scent notes aren’t my norm. Despite having done that, I was taken aback upon first spray.

To me this is 100% a man fragrance, which I’m not, so it’s not for me. But since it was already on my arms I figured what the hell, I may as well wear it.

I immediately got migraine auras within the first three minutes. Not a great sign. The perfume reminds me strongly of Polo by Ralph Lauren in the green bottle from the 1980s. I dated a young man who wore that and I loved it on him, so it was nice to reminisce.
The top notes to me are pine, or forest in general—very strong at that. It slapped me in the face kind of strong.
After five minutes it smells like Polo. Citrus overtakes the green, and the Oud is coming out. I honestly smelled no flowers of any kind here on my skin.

I gave the decant to my husband to see what he thinks. He loves it on himself and on me, but I do not. He has to under-spray to wear it due to my migraines.

We both love “Ursa”, but Orion just isn’t my thing. Although it smells better on him than on me, and he likes it a lot, we agreed to sell this one because of my migraines.

Disapointment, not worth it

I wanted to buy this really bad from looking at the notes and the reviews but when i finnaly got a chance to try it, i got disapointed.... It smells 95% like club de nuit edt.... But weaker, it seems crazy but it is like that for me, i maybe should try it again bcs it will be more accurate if i try it more times but the first time i tried it on skin with 3 sprays i got negativly suprised, where is that fruitiness and woodyness and spicyness i dont get any, unfortunetly.

" Orion" is a spicy fruity scent. This Perfume opens with fresh feeling , the reason for this is the bergamot effect. But this situation takes a short time. Then your nose starts to feel the sweet fruity smells, the dominant scent here is a sweet pineapple scent (Also the top note smells a bit like fruit compote) and you also start to feel the spicy scents lightly. Because the top notes are short-lived. After a short time, you will feel the spicy middle notes.The most dominant scent in the middle note is birch and thyme.Especially the birch scent is the leading actor in this perfume. After that, this perfume continues with smoky, spicy and woody.Because birch, frankincense and cedar are very effective in base notes

The longevity is above-average. Lasted on my skin as a skin scent around 12+ hours.

If you like beautiful heavy, smoky and woody fragrance, you can definitely love this fragrance.
This fragrance appeals to me as mature men scent

Orion Aventus killer ?

This fragrance has similarities to the famous Aventus. But it’s not a clone at all, the scent has its own personality and is a pure piece of art. The birch is the most prominent note here which makes the fragrance more smoky/woody. It also has a thyme note which is not very commonly used in fragrances and sets it completely apart from Aventus.The performance is far better than Aventus and lasts forever on my skin. This is definitely one of the best fragrances i came across in the past year. If you are sick on Aventus and you want a similar vibe. Go for Orion !

The Aventus Test/Comparison

Hello dear community,

after my last test/comparison between Algemar... and Aoud BlueNotes was so much fun, I have now started a new project.
As with Aoud.. I wanted to check for myself whether the two fragrances are really as similar as described by some previous speakers.
To clarify, I am not a perfume expert, but I deal with scents and vapors in my profession. Fragrances are a hobby for me, NOT a profession.

I finally got both fragrances. I conducted two tests, one on longevity and one on the fragrance itself.

The starting conditions were as follows:
Start of the test at 7 AM.
Weather: Windy, cloudy, humidity 66%, 12 degrees Celsius outside, 22 degrees Celsius inside.
Tester: me, male
Helpers: 3 voluntary, 2 involuntary
Div.: Neighbor's dog named Balduin

Comparison 1.
The name:
Aventus Creed: nice name, rolls off the tongue easily, somewhat edgy and assertive.
Orion Tiziana Terenzi: sounds like the beginning of an Italian poem. With 3 voluntary testers, vacation feelings immediately arose.
The wagging of the dog's tail was always the same when the names were mentioned.

Comparison 2.
Bottle:
Aventus: beautiful shape, great logo with a rider, appeals to me as a man.
2 voluntary testers agree.
Orion: not a particularly striking bottle shape, nice cap with moon phases, initially a bit boring for me as a man. Could also pass as a cream jar for women.
2 voluntary testers share the same opinion.
Ps: the dog didn’t care.

Comparison 3.
Sillage:
Almost equal. On my skin, a slight edge for Orion.
3 voluntary testers and 1 involuntary tester (neighbor) also found this.
The dog apparently didn’t care.

Comparison 4.
Longevity:
Aventus: hardly perceptible after 6 hours, completely gone after about 8 hours.
Orion: after 8 hours, only a shadow of its former self, but still perceptible the next day.

Comparison 5.
Fragrance:
Spray and go. Very different starts.
Aventus: fresh, light pineapple, citrusy. Reminds me of pineapple on lemon ice.
Orion: slightly citrusy, strong sweet pineapple, light apple note. Reminds more of pineapple-sour apple compote.

..after 15 min
Aventus: becomes fresher, clearer, cooler.
Orion: very fruity, slightly sweet but softer, rounder, gentler than Aventus.
3 voluntary testers agree.
The dog reacted to Aventus with tail wagging and brought his ball for Orion..!?

...after 30 min to 1.5 hours
Aventus: slightly piercing, somewhat woody and mossy, probably from the oak moss ^^
Orion: now the birch comes into play, gently balsamic ^^
Two completely different fragrances!
3 voluntary testers and 1 involuntary tester (postman) also found this :D
The dog is sleeping....

...after 1.5 to 3 hours
Both become weaker.
Strangely, now both smell very similar, no extreme distinctions to be detected.
3 voluntary testers and 1 involuntary tester (neighbor) also noticed this.
The dog doesn’t come anymore when you call his name... :D

...after 3 to 5 hours
Now there is some movement again.
Of course, both are now a bit weaker, Aventus more than Orion.
Aventus: now you can also detect some vanilla.
Orion: a nice harmonious oud-incense "scent" in the background.
1 voluntary tester also found this. The rest of the testers just say "smells good," so no longer evaluable.
The dog is gone. Somehow he looked happy when his owner picked him up. ?!?

...everything after 5 hours
Now nothing changes anymore. Individual scent components are gradually fading.
Aventus: retains its freshness until the end.
Orion: retains its fruitiness until the end.

Well, a comparison is difficult.
I could compare it to football players.
Carlos vs. Messi
Aventus = Roberto Carlos. Small, powerful, but known and notorious for his rough style and extremely hard shot.
Orion = Lionel Messi. Also small and powerful, but much more sensitive with the ball and has better overview.

Or comparison, Hulk vs Thor
Aventus = Hulk. Superhero, strong, hits everything, breaks everything.
Orion = Thor. Also a superhero and strong, hits hard and breaks things, but with more overview and only what is necessary. Much more elegant.

I hope I was able to convey my comparison well to both men and women.

I had a lot of fun again and it was very interesting, also for all testers and the dog.
